If he had one, it would at least run.

Watch that upper Green. There are lots of vicious 30 lb possums up there.
40 lb braid leader, #4 black corky and a Gami treble works well for them.
If black doesn't work, try orange to imitate baby carrots.

My 01 Subaru with 70k on it runs just fine... And the heated leather seats are oh so nice...Much nicer than the cloth seats in my 99 Silverado, which i may end up putting a 5.7 aka 350 in as it would be cheaper...

why are we talking about cars?

I have alot of orange corkies too, my favorite color!! Actually flame is but who gives a crap..

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

redhook,
You might try cutting back on the High Fructose Corn Syrup for a spell before going on another pointless posting binge. Catching and eating some summer runs might help too....

You're welcome. wink

I don't even follow my own advice......old days...I'd carry 2 rods....fished, sand shimp and eggs......no goes, I'd switch to bobber/jigs.......nothing.......then before I left the hole, I'd always fish a spinner......can't tell you how many times, the spinner put a fish on the bank.

Wish more people fished "spoons", where I normally fish but they don't. Oh sure I've seen the spoon fishermen and also the fly fishermen, fish around me but I've never seen a fish caught on a fly, and only a few summer run caught on a spoon.....I'm sure they work, I see all the comments.but ??????????

Well, I went today.. Only hit 2 spots tho, first spot, as I pulled up I see cars, and immeadiately think greeeaaattt... Walk in, and 2 guys are walking out, with Ugly Sticks and tackle boxes.. I was relieved, fishing for steelhead, I won't fish water that someone else has for the last 3 hours, but seeing these guys, I knew they didn't fish it correctly.. Get up to the spot and noone else is around, so i start flingin the Okie with a spawn sac, after a few minutes I got a SOLID hit, but nothing stuck, came back through, and nothing was there.... Pounded the brush on the far bank for about 20 more minutes, and said its time to move on..

Met a guy before leaving, BSd with him a bit, and I said i was going up river, and he hadn't fished where I was going, so he followed me up.. We started hitting the water, I get another SOLID whap, but nothing, came back through, and it wasn't there ... Met another older gentlemen swinging spoons that picked up a 9 pound nate a couple days ago, we were all BSn for a while, fishing, got a couple more smaller hits, probably small trout, and the guy that followed me up snapped his leader on something right before we called it a day...

As we were fishing, a damn Raccoon was swiming down river in front of us, I have never seen anything like it, it litterally swam down river atleast 100 probably more yards up river while we watched... I immeadiately threw on 2 orange corkies, and 6 inches of orange yarn to simulate a larger carrot, but it wouldn't take it.. Jumped up on the far bank and dissapeared... I think my bait was too big, I should have listened and only used 1 corkie and no yarn to simulate a baby one...

All in all, great to get out on the river again, I am sick of fishing lakes, and even not catching anything was just as fun as catching trout...

Baits used, spawn sacs, Okies, a black RvrFshr, and a flame Blue Fox #4, oh and orange corkies, but just for the Raccoon....

I must say, that the rod that my neighbor sold me (he is a guide), performed STELLAR, I like it better than alot of rods I have, it is a Lami G1306T 8-12... I could feel everything, and can't wait to use it for Salmon this season...

I feel if I would have used eggs like I normally do and cure them, instead of spawn sacs, I may have done better, but oh well, thats fishin... And I don't have any eggs right now.... right now wink

Water was GREAT looking, a little high, but gin clear and the deeper pools were nice and green...

fun day...

Oh, I paid 50 bucks for the rod, and it's a newer (gray blank), so I feel I got a great deal on that rod... Thanks Rich!!

Where I fish for summers no bait is allowed.
We have adapted very well.
The volume of fish caught is high, year after year.
Probably half fly and half hardware.

I think a lot of it is gaining confidence in artificials.....just plain expecting to get bit. You know the spots, you swing in there and it's game on.

I bring 2 maybe even 3 rods every time I go to a river... You can always have a failure, and my fishing will not be cut short by that wink

That's messed up DD lol...

I fish differently than just about all of you likely.. Hold the rod different, do my bait different, try to catch wildlife different ect..

Salmon wise, my catch numbers show it, Steelhead wise, I think its my choice of rivers, not my technique, because i cover EVERY inch of water I can fishing for either species...
