Just got this pic sent to me from a buddy. There's nets strung across the baker river. One boat got 200 fish today. from what I heard there was supposed to be a 28 hour opener, but that was days ago...maybe Romulous and Edgar's grandma died and they had to net for the ceremony... 330 fish in the lake right now. Could be a lot more if they would leave em alone once they got to the baker.

Just sayin

its what they need to do to survive Drew, if they didnt, they wouldnt exist.... plus it looks like they left a 4 foot channel for the fish to go through on the far bank... atleast they are trying to help...

Have you seen the mouth when there netting. Nets are everywhere. Plus they drift the nets into the skagit down a ways too.

I'm sure those aren't all the nets.

Either way it's there right to do it.

The Swinomish and Sauk-Suiattle Tribes fished the lower Skagit and part of the bay for sockeye and are probably done for the season. The Upper Skagit Tribe is fishing yesterday through today in the Skagit and Baker. Only a few hundred into the Baker trap yesterday and today. Hope that's only because of the fishery in front of the trap.
