Good king and silver fishing yesterday, things slowed down alot today but a 54 and 47 lbs. kings were brought in. Looking forward to some nice weather forecasted for the next few days, should help fishing a bit.

I recognize that hidey hole...way to go Legend! Can't wait to hear more stories from this one. I am sure there are quite a few that involve man town, Ruth Anne's, the hilltop, or a combo of all three.

Besides learning what a Merkin is, I learned that all of Stam’s family are pretty cool and witty. An example. Stam was telling someone that he and Mike Z went waaay back. His cousin piped up with, "Well I knew Mike Z when he was known as Mike A." So much wit. There were a million laughs. Treefarmers family is also top notch. I have never before fished with 11 other guys with not one azzhole, well except maybe for me, in the whole group. Too much fun.

Robbo says he's up for having us back next year. Sometime around next March we will begin taking signups. I'm thinking the slots will fill fast. I will poll the likely participants but am considering an August trip. I can only imagine how many giggle we could have with a wide open bite on coho 12-15 pounds.

Well, we spent the last f-ning 30 minutes trying to upload some f-ning pictures that never worked.

In a nutshell we had a great time. The weather limited where we could fish the first two days but day 3 we got out on the big water.

It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.

Any tips on getting a pic up would be of great help.
Thanks.

Awesome work, Vedder, Stamly, and crew. Thanks for the photos, tales, and entertainment.

I am not even really sure to ask this question, and I am a little scared of the answer, but how does the Merkin stay in place? Please don't say "bend over, I'll show you."

OK, figured the pic deal out. (Thanks Redhook).

So this was my 10th trip to Alaska fishing and my first to Craig. This would also be my sons first trip to Alaska. He has been all over the world, to places I will never see so don't think hes been deprived. He has just never been all that into fishing and alot more into MX and snowboarding. It was good to have him make his first trip up and I figured just 3 days, if he loved it great and if he didn't it was just 3 days. He loved it and would go back again.
So here's the story:
Rough seas kept us off the big water the 1st 2 days. The skippers still worked hard to try and get us our fish and by day 3 we had the chance to really see what Craig had to offer.

Day one, Fished with Kim on the Seahunt. Wind gust to 40. First fish for the kid. This was his first trip to Alaska and he had a blast.
img:left]http://[/img]

Not bad for a first fish. One of the biggest Kings anyone got for the trip. Way to go.
[img:left][/img]

Day 3 we got offshore into some Ling-Yellow-eye grounds. Biggest ling was 44". Nice Yellow eye. Took no time to get a limit.
[img:left][/img]

Kim tells Ty to "hit bottom and real up 3 cranks". Ty hits bottom, reals once and has this Hali on. This was good because based on the Hali fishing on day 2 (inside) I was convinced he would never ever want to Hali fish again.
[img:left][/img]

The scenery was a nice touch.
[img:left][/img]

This was the big Ling Kenny got. 44" to the nose.
[img:left][/img]

Last day, last fish. Nice little Ho. Kenny and Ty with big smiles. Great time was had by all.

Maybe Stam will tell us about the man with no pants in Ruth Ann's parking lot. It was his cousin who manned up and solved the problem - sort of . .

So here's my opposite TSA story. I forgot and left my big ole Buck folding knife in my carryon bag. The TSA guy runs my backpack thru for a second time then asks if he can inspect it. "No problemo", says I, as I think it's all good. Shait, there's the big damn knife. I apologize and ask if there’s any way I can make this work so I can get on the plane and keep the knife. (The knife has special value to me as it is engraved with a note to me from Chuck Buck.) The TSA guy says, "I fully understand. I carry a knife everywhere I go and sure can see how a guy could forget." He escorts me out of security and gives me the knife back. The woman at Alaska Airlines is super nice and lets me go put it in my bag which is still on the carousel. No strain no pain. Really nice folks all around.
