Hi----I'm Terry Roth, from Maury Island, retired from 30 year's service at the Seattle VA. Have been in the PNW since 1981, live on Maury Island, and fish out of a 15ft Arima named "Serenissima", as well as a Hobie Adventure kayak. Mostly fish the east side of Vashon, I'm trying to break the Pt Defiance habit---too many seals, have lost 2 nice kings this spring to the spotted devils.
I love to fish the Strait, will be taking my Hobie up to Freshwater Bay this week, I used to fish Clallam Bay back in the 1990's when Silver King was in operation.

I've been on the NWKA (NW Kayak Anglers) website for years as well as Captain Downriggin's site. Just found this site, looks to be a good one!

Tight lines to you all----hope to see you on the Sound

Welcome Terry.

My folks live on Vashon. Might try and look you up next time i am down that way. I have been wanting to get to know the local Vashon fishing scene for a while as I tend to wind up there from time to time.

Beware the Darkside and good luck sir.

It seems you have THE kayak, proximity to prime water and the time to use both... Envious. Great pictures too.

Hola.

Yep, The Adventure is great, fast, stable enough to sit inthe seat with your legs hanging over the side, mooching. Not as rock-steady as the Revolution or Outback, but much more stable than the sit-in yaks I used up in Barkley Sound in the 1980's and 1990s.

And pedaling leaves your hands free to sip a cold pop, or hold a rod, or binocs....you can make a steady 3-4 mph as your legs are a lot stronger than your arms. It can even be a life-saver, as my buddy Chet found last January:

Welcome.

I have a Hobie Revo and like the speed of it, but I'm looking to either sell it or trade it for an Outback. Those are a little wider and bit more stable for me. Those pedal yaks are great for trolling too.

Sea lions aren't as bad as the Landlord that took a bite out of the yak in Santa Cruz last week. Rumor has it the dude threw away his wetsuit.

Yo Terry, trip to Freshwater Bay yesterday put 4 Tail Feathers in the cooler and 2 with tail feathers back. Got them all off of Pineapple and Elephant except one, that one was off of the hook.
