I want to know what the State has against the working stiff? Not only do they open the season when I can't fish without using vacation time, but they do it for a fkn entire week!!! You bastages suck! Big Time!! And then to top that off (like things could be worse) the Gdam Commies start with nets to further wipe out the possibilities of the grunt at work. WTF, B!tch!! You think I pay less than the retired guys? Why then am I allowed less fishing time?? YOU MF's will definitely make an outlaw out of me!! I'm tired of playing by your FU rules!! (Clear enough?)

Its the states fault that you dont have a job with flexible hours. this makes perfect sense. Becoming a poacher will both teach the state a lesson and youll have the flexible hours the state should have given you when you were born. its a win win.

You don't like the scheduling, on your fisheries????? I suggest you get involved in NOF, and voice your opinion. If you wait for someone to change the schedule to your liking, it ain't going to happen. For your information, rivers in many parts of the State used to open June 1.......but someone decided that wasn't fair to the "working person".........so now they open the 1st weekend in June.....makes it a "zoo" on the rivers. No easy answer on the "commies".....net is a net.....Chehalis River has 2 groups fishing gill nets.........grrrrrrrrrrr to that.......Cowboys should not be allow to gillnet Chehalis/Humptulips Bays and for sure "no cowboy nets", in the river, double grrrrrrrrrrrr on that.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

The Westport rules sure make it tough to fish a couple days without burning vacation time. It also makes it tougher to get a crew when they have to burn vac time too. Why not close it Tuesday and Wednesday?
It is probably because the guide boats like to bottom fish Fri/Sat.
My other gripe with WDFW is their management of nearly all fisheries close to Seattle, ie, Elliot Bay and Lake Wa sockeye. I am convinced their main objective is to look like careful managers to the 95% that don't fish.

Most but not all marine sport rules are to maximize and get the most days possible for charter seasons. When required they will restrict the fish harvest or days in a manner to reduce impact of the non charter boats. The only one day on a weekend is the most effective manner they have come up with as it has a modest impacts on the overall season bookings.
A paper fish is a paper fish and it will be harvested but it will be aimed at the $$$ not treating each element of the harvesters ( sport fishers ) equitably. Stretching the days out by restricting the private craft on weekends does generate addition trips for those businesses. It is the system be it right or wrong.

My understanding is that it wasn't just for charters but also for other businesses in the region (e.g. hotels and marina). E.g. stretching out the season makes their business more predictable than when the season ends too early because the quota is gone. No?

Don't be hating on the 1%'ers. If you give them the most opportunity their knowledge will trickle down to the weekenders.

Yep sorta, maybe, no, and all the above. Westport is not Ocean Shores as the vast majority of charter fishers come for the day and go home. It is the non charter sports that fills the RV parks and restaurants ect. North Coast even more so and South Coast is a bit more mixed.

They changed the crab opening/closing to accomodate weekenders...which is the right thing to do.
Now you pieces of spoiled spawn.......open the damn salmon season so everyone who buys a license can use it. The "season lasts longer" argument sucks wind (no offense). Close it a couple of days mid week like mentioned previously (pick the extreme low tide days like you do halibut).
(Jason.....very good!)
I have plenty of good humor.....but this State is getting on my last nerve.
As Sg likes to say......UP THE REVOLUTION!!
