If you run out of apples and want to entice the local deer what kind of feed store pellet do you suggest?

They make a deer pellet that is supposed to work. Mineral licks work. Salt pits are another one deer like.

Rose plants . They cannot resist them. They also really like Raspberry shoots. The vast majority of their natural diet is Blackberry tips.
I have pasture with mineral blocks out for the Horses and steer and the deer pass them up for the garden everytime.

i was wondering if baiting deer is illegal. this years regulations do not even mention it. it is only in the waterfowl regs where it states it's illegal to bait waterfowl. i scanned through the big game regs a bunch of times and never ran accross anything about baiting deer

No, there is no law against baiting deer.

only bear and waterfowl i believe.
