Just got home, got the fish boxes unpacked and in the freezer and I'm pretty ragged out. I can't hit the rack until I tell you about that mangled 'butt. His Awesomeness (The Vedder) and I were fishing in the back corners of the boat at the 'butt honey hole. Dave hooks up, the rod goes double-bendo, Rob says "that's a biggun..prolly over a hunerd". I was in the mood to tug on a bigger fish, so I offered to take a hand-off. As much as Dave wanted to reel in that monster, he reluctantly agreed to let me try my hand. It felt every bit of that hundred pounds, but I kept up with the lift and reel down and then.. a stinkin' fur bag got ahold of it and took off. That hundred pounder now felt like 600, but I held on and that marine mammal finally let loose. I was now liftin' and reelin' down for all I was worth, thinkin' that furry bastage would come back and hit it again. I started to see a little color and felt I had beat that sumbitch. As it got closer I could see it was about a 25# 'butt that Dave had skillfully gut-hooked. You've probably done that before, so you know when you foul-hook any fish it comes up like there's a drag chute attached to it. That's my story and I'm stickin' to it. Lots of good times with a great bunch of guys. Rob runs a first-cabin operation and this won't be my last trip up there. I have more tales, tall and otherwise, but I need some rest before I get goin' on 'em.

You learn something new on every trip. thanks Rob.. The Merkin has its origins in ancient history, as early as 1450, according to the Oxford Companion to the Body. The vag wig was originally used for health and sanitary reasons (crabs, or pubic lice were a common problem), because without the marvels of modern medicine, sometimes little could be done other than a full-on shave. Left with no pubic hair, some women opted to wear a wig over that region.Another fun one with the family.. Thanks Rob and Troy for making the most of some tough weather and unco-operative kings... in the end it all worked out.. My dad and brother both got their largest kings ever, dad had an out of body day on crazy coho down south, doing his best to single handedly fill the fish box, (it would have been annoying if it had been anyone other than dad... ) Kinda fun to see the guides strategizing and worrying and figuring and calculating and doing the voodoo each morning just to get us the best crack at the fish that they can.... I noticed, and I appreciated it. The wind did present some problems on day one, tried hiding with everyone else on the lee side of an island and still got whooped on pretty bad... but, when it gets too tough for everyone else....it's just about right for dad, nice smile. Who cares if we didn't fill the box on day one, it was another best day ever... A few pics were taken, but mostly it was drop and reel....drop and reel, pretty impressive crew I've got, nobody ever stops, always on the hunt all day every day....no rest for the wicked. Got an invited out to Brobill and katies place up there one evening for a BBQ, Bill had mashed a masher bear last fall up on the peninsula and it was show and tell time... whoa! Capital B-o o n e r.... We pretty much peaked on the last day while fishing with Troy, BrotherJoe nabbed a nice 32+ kinger in a hidy hole that had been beat on by a few boats before us, Rob gets some of the credit for this one (and the one I got) as we stole a page from his book on how to fish this spot..... 2 last chance kings when it appeared that it was not going to happen just showed us again that grinding, grinding, grinding is more productive than giving up.... never give up. stam p.s. parkers merkin is ordered.

Besides learning what a Merkin is, I learned that all of Stam’s family are pretty cool and witty. An example. Stam was telling someone that he and Mike Z went waaay back. His cousin piped up with, "Well I knew Mike Z when he was known as Mike A." So much wit. There were a million laughs. Treefarmers family is also top notch. I have never before fished with 11 other guys with not one azzhole, well except maybe for me, in the whole group. Too much fun.
Robbo says he's up for having us back next year. Sometime around next March we will begin taking signups. I'm thinking the slots will fill fast. I will poll the likely participants but am considering an August trip. I can only imagine how many giggle we could have with a wide open bite on coho 12-15 pounds.

Well, we spent the last f-ning 30 minutes trying to upload some f-ning pictures that never worked.
In a nutshell we had a great time. The weather limited where we could fish the first two days but day 3 we got out on the big water.
It was great seeing old friends and meeting new ones.
Any tips on getting a pic up would be of great help. Thanks.
