Was out in the snotty conditions this morning (15-25 S with 2 - 4 wind chop)(and rain). Hooked two, one to the boat was a mid teener clipped fish. Other was a LDR but seemed to be a nice fish. I was using the standard green breakaway with 42" to a spatterback green hoochie with a strip of herring. Easy crab limits daily.

I am fishing alone for the opener. Looking at the "black book" Wednesday and Thursday also. PM!

I'll post up a report tommorow. Good Luck!

I took a trip with GutZ last week and we had a great day on the water... GutZ let me take my boys out there against his better judgement wink he was a trooper and now has a couple of friends for life!

It was a great day on the water. We picked up a couple of resident coho's like this

and 4 limits of these:

the best story of all --- Jeff and I have the kids convinced that you have to sneak up on the crab pots because the crab can pick the pot up with their pinchers, poke their legs thru the holes and run with it!! I'm sure they'll figure it out some day... wink

Jeff is a great guy and knows how to catch fish!

Jeff, thanks again for the trip... I ended up with motor problems this weekend and didn't make it out frown

I'm looking forward to the opener reports.
Had a nice king roll 20 feet off the beach I was fishing yesterday.
Great pics Piper!

Richmond Beach / Boeing Crick was slow. A few fish were caught, but not many.

Tribes up there now putting their nets in the water all over the place...right across the trolling lanes, etc.

Guess it's their day to go rape the sound of some kings and anything else that swims in their nets.

Looks like there's more fish up and around the corner at PnP on up.......

Got one at 9 pounds. It was foggy for sure. Big ships with big horns is a bit disconcerting.

It seems that there was a big push of water going west, seemed like I was on the compass east all the way down the bar. Second pass is when I got my fish way up/down South End. Even with 20-25 out of the South, I think it was easier to fish in than the fog. I think I do a 90 degree turn everytime I try to set gear or pretty much do anything. At least I don't need to pee wink

Piper; those two are welcome on my boat anytime! They've already been through everything so wink no worries. (Friday? please call, pm, text)

Talked to Wolverine (nice meeting you) who picked up a couple up around Bush Point.

I'll be out tomorrow with my son in law. Think I'll start late, launch at Everett 9:30AM or so and fish the afternoon incoming until high slack tide change, quit at 6-7PM or so. (Shhh..Pilot Pt, I dont like Possession in a minus tide with 12 feet of tide change!)

NR Seahawk, blue trim, 2 Scottys, say hello if you are there.

The Rev. is right, it was slow and the nets were thick. It was fun to motor up north and find a clear spot in the fog and see so many regulars fishing at Richmond Beach. A few fish were caught, the WDFW test boat got two hatchery kings and a small coho. We had two fish on, a small resident coho and the fish in the pic below. It was only the 6th king, and largest (17#), checked at noon at Shilshole. Caught 70 feet down on a a kingfisher "Irish Cream" spoon. The pic is a few hours after the catch when the fog lifted.

I already have two Hot Spots rigged with the Irish Cream Kingfisher. They were hot last year and got hard to find at stores. I hope it is not foggy tomorrow. I dont like messing around in the shipping channel in fog. I have a charting GPS so no prob knowing where I am. But otherwise it gets too scary for me.

here's a few pics from today of our three largest fish. We ended up 5-8 on what can be called our best opener ever in the sound in terms of quality of fish, weather, and having fun with your friends!

pig-o-the-day!

What the hell is with this rust colored algae bloom this year? It's heavier than I recall ever seeing..hopefully we can identify the source of what is causing this? Agri Runoff perhaps? All I know is it's worse than I have seen in the central sound.
