...or maybe he's just detached from having a clue, or detached from having advisors and handlers that have clues of their own.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/ezra...ven-down-costs/

This morning in Israel Romney sucked up to Jewish voters by sucking up to Israel, telling them how awesome their health care is, how they pay less than half of what we do as a percentage of GDP on health care, etc., etc., etc....

Israel has government funded health care.

Everyone in Israel is covered.

Medical costs have government controlled price controls so that they do not get too expensive.

Health care in Israel, under any definition, is straight up "socialism".

For Romneycare, against Obamacare, for Israelicare?

Does this guy have a clue at all?

Do those who will be voting for him?

(The answer is "no")

Fish on...

Todd

Comparing universal healthcare for a country of less than 8 million to a country of almost 300million is a big reach even for a dipchit like todd.

Perhaps our progressive panty sniffer Todd would like to compare Israels healthcare ALONG with their border controls and apply the same standards here.

I'll take Israeli healthcare as long as Todd accepts the US response to border incursion the same as Israel reacts to their border incursion....

Clueless is as clueless does.

Romney is uber rich. By definition he has no grasp on the reality experienced by most of planet earth's dwellers. Who's surprised?

I nominate RVW to monitor border incursions with his not-really-an-assault-rifle. That should give him something more useful to do than making stupid posts on the interwebz.

Like Chuck, I have serious reservations about voting for a religious cult member like Romney. Besides that and being a less than 0.01%er, he's about as normal as can be.

I'm worried regardless of who we elect this year. Neither of them represent any real salvation to the US. One will sell us out to big business. The other will spend us into oblivion, regardless of the future impact on our economy. Neither represents a balanced approach to fixing what is wrong with our country because their parties won't let them, or they just plain don't care.

Chuck S.,

I don't know that Obama is a joke, but he's been more than mildly disappointing to this slightly left of center hippie. His main qualification for office is that he isn't Bush, and that was enough, initially. Health care reform was an overdue idea, but I can't tell if the bungling was the result of inept legislation writing by Dems or the extreme partisanship where anything the Ds are for, the Rs are against.

Dogfish has it closest to correct as I see it. I think both Romney and Obama care, but that's ultimately irrelevant because they are owned by the combination of partisan agendas and Wall St. A balanced approach is the furthest thing from the agendas of those who wield control. The American middle class is screwed.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

Goats are smarter than that.

Hank, either you can't read, or you're being wrong on purpose again, and since I know you can read, you must be doing the "I don't care what was actually said, here's how I'll say it for them" right wing activity.

Romney is praising their health care system...a "socialist" system that makes Obamacare/Romneycare look like the free market system...while also still supporting Romneycare, and opposing Obamacare.

This guy would have to consult with his team to decide if June comes before or after July...and then he'd still get it wrong...but dingbats like you fools will vote for him anyway.

Fish on...

Yeah, big difference.

So, what he really was saying is this:

"I really despise your Nigerian Kenyan Socialist Marxist style of healtcare, but I sure wish ours worked as good as yours and as cheaply as yours, just not all bad like yours."

Yeah, but Dumbya had to deal with Iraq after Saddam Hussein flew planes into the World Trade Center and was just about to shoot nuclear bombs at us, and security like that costs money and lots of lives.

The facts about the growth of spending under Obama
If you go back and actually read the article I linked to (dated 1 June), you'll see that it is actually about the article you linked to (dated 25 May). You should also notice that referenced there is another article (linked here) that refutes the articles by The Washington Post and AP.

The update, dated 31 May, states that under the current administration, Federal spending has risen "slower than at any time in nearly 60 years." What is most controversial is how to account for the spending in 2009 when the economy was in free fall. But even if considering fiscal year 2009 spending that is either clearly or arguably Obama's (the simulus, the CHIP expansion, TARP, etc.), "it would only raise Obama’s average annual spending increase from 1.4 percent to somewhere between 3.4 percent and 4.9 percent." That is still below the previously mentioned administrations.

So I didn't just rely on Nutting's report; I also relied on The Wall Stree Journal, the Tampa Bay Times (PolitiFact.com), and The Fiscal Times.

Oh, and wink

A rate of change value is not the same as a total aggregate value. On aggregate, no president has spent more dollars than Obama. However, no president since Eisenhower has spent at a slower rate than Obama. There is a difference.

Then you must obviously agree that Romney is a liar for saying that spending under President Obama has "accelerated at a pace without precedent in recent history."

Again, Hank, that article was dated 26 May. If you're going to refute something published on 1 June, it kinda needs to be after that date. All you've done is regurgitated information from 25 May.
