I bought a new gun last week and went out to shoot it Sunday afternoon. Well, it kicked my butt pretty hard. Actually my cheek. I feel like I got into a fight and the gun won.

Question: Can anyone recommend how to go about sizing this gun to fit me? My cheekbone rests on an area of the buttstock that I think may need to be relieved but I'm not about to take a grinder or sander to it. Do gunsmiths do this type of thing? If not them then who?

I've owned several shotguns in my 20+ years of shooting and hunting and have never had this problem. I've shot guns that weren't comfortable but never one that punched me in the cheekbone.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Almost any computent Gunsmith can do the work for you. Seeing that you live in the Gig Harbor area there is several I know of in the Tacoma area. Look in the phone book for Cherokee Firearms Repair in Spanaway, Ron does excellant work his phone No is 253-847-9112. He has done work for me on several of my firearms, he does quality work as he is a retired military armorer.

There is also several other reputable gun shops in the Tacoma Area who have gunsmiths on premises or can steer you in the right direction.
