Anybody else out there getting fed up with no late season muzzleloader opportunities on the Yakima herd? Can you shed any light on why these hunts went away? Seems there was always a pretty good 4 day hunt Nov 16-20 in units 342/346/944. What gives?

Moe,I usally hunt 342 for deer and I assume you are speaking of elk. I spoke with the game biologist Last year, it sounds like the herd is mostly migratory and it takes a beatin with every step of the way out of the high country there arent as many locals as there used to be so from archery, muzzle & rifles early the late hunt on them is like a "double jepordy" this is the same reason that they stopped the permit only for deer in 342 it was too hard on the herd. Not sure if this helps or is what you are looking for but it's all I know. Good luck!
