Thinking of floating for some ducks or geese this weekend, anyone willing to point me in the right direction as to my best bets within an hour or so of Olympia. Never used the d/b to hunt before but with river flows up probably a better bet than fishing.

Thanks in advance. Feel free to pm with any info.

It's been so long since I've hunted ducks I can't really help you out on where to go, other than I'd have to say the Chehalis River ought to be as good as any. I wonder how many ducks will be on the rivers though, with all this rain there ought to be plenty of other places for them to go. The only time we did good on the rivers was early in the season when there wasn't water anywhere else, or later in the season when everything froze up except for the rivers. But, it's worth a try anyway, you might find a few, and there could still be a few wood ducks around too.

Thanks for the info H.A.
You're probably right on about them having plenty of places other than the rivers with all of this water. I've done lots of pheasant hunting on the eastside but kind of a rookie when it comes to ducks.
