My fingers are crossed as well with the hope that the predicted storm does not develop.

Been taking advantage of the river low flows (on the various north Sound "S" rivers) for some stellar sea-run cutthroat fly fishing. Good numbers with more than a few dandy size ones and enough by-catch of coho to keep me on my toes!

While the river low flows have made it tough for the river salmon fishers it has lead to a fall of exceptional fishing for those chasing coho in the salt or cutthroat in the rivers.

The good news is that if the predicted rain at the end of the week develops and washes out the cutthroat fish it will be timely for us waterfowl hunters!

The WDFW is causing a hole in the Time/space continuum, by scheduling a clam dig Saturday, on the same day as the Deer Opener. We all know that it rains on the Saturday of the first fall clam dig, and we all know that it is sunny on the general deer opener.

My family always harvests cranberries on the deer/duck-opener, and I don't remember it ever raining on harvest day.

Something is going to have to give.

Initially, the ground's going to soak up the first inch or so with it being so dry. After that, about a foot rise in the rivers would be just what the doctor ordered.

Current forecasts call for a 3 to 7 foot rise by next week for the north Sound "S" rivers.

Things may hold up Fri/Sat but the second punch on Sun/Mon is going to be a blow-out if the forecasts are right,

Just built my new center pin rod and bought my first center pin reel. And I've got a week of practice with my casting and even had the big learning curve of losing 5 steelhead and catching tiny silvers...now bring on the rain so I can put the hurt on some bigger fish! I have a lot of new jig patterns to try out too

Don't do a "big rain dance".....been know to start and continue until, in my area, the upper Chehalis is at flood stage......river brown and ugly, then if Wynoochee/Humptulips head waters get the "big rains", Humptulips will get blown out......dam will help on the Wynoochee but lot's of Silvers will go right pass the lower river....into the trap.....then trucked over the Dam.

Gill netting in lower Chehalis could take far more fish than the resource can handle .....grrrrrrrrrr to 2 groups gill netting the Chehalis marine and lower river.

My "rain dance" will be done to slow music!!!!!!!!!

That's crazy, I don't think I've seen blue on those charts before. Signal the Lahar siren.
