Does anyone have some recommendations for nice places in the woods close to Seattle where it is quiet & legal to target shoot. I have the King County no-shooting area map, but that doesn't exactly say (although I can guess) which areas are deserted enough that neighbors won't be freaking out about hearing gunfire.

Currently, I drive out about 45 miles east on I-90 and head into the hills. A place closer would be nice.

Save that extra gas money and use it to go to the Renton Fish and Gun Club instead. They have good facilities for all types of shooting, and charge reasonable prices.

That's good advice Vic. So many anti-gun people running around anymore it's hard to find a place to shoot. Plus it's a lot safer at a range.

Does anyone know what the rules are (if any) regarding shooting a bow in Seattle city limits? Just wondering if there are ordinances on that. I don't have a fenced in yard, so I'll be out in the open if I want to shoot at the house - just want to make sure I'm legal in case the neighbors call the cops (a definite possibility). I looked on the city of Seattle website but couldn't find anything.

i use to shoot my bow all the time for about 5 years that i actually bow hunted. and never had a single problem. i did how ever ask spd and the person i talked to told me that as long as the arrow doesnt leave they yard its not a problem. but once it leaves the yard i can be arrested for indangering the public.

but im bow hunting for elk this year. so time to set the range back up
