Ok, here is the situation. The Duck pond I usually hunt is waaaay blown out (whitewater at one end). The deal is there are still a lot of birds working the area, primarily the opposite side of access. I have a john boat that is finally operational and a little minkota motor.
The problem is that one you get to other side there is very little cover, if any. I am looking for suggestions on the hide...
I have grassed up layouts I can cart over. and also thought about making a makeshift ground blind. any thoughts...
P.S. It is a flooded wheat stubble field.
Thanks fellas

Okay, a serious answer...
I have a pair of Marsh Rats, that when they are grassed up, that make laying out dry and comfortable. Pull them up on the edge of the water and let the birds fly.

See, I wish I had one. I have the "poor man's" version. Old ass john boat. thought about going ghetto and putting my layout on it.
With those rats you could hide at the pond edge/ canary grass that is about 3 1/2-4 feet deep at the moment.
If you have an Oygun license we might be able to figure something out.......
FYI: the actual pond is probably 10' deep right now

No Ore license here but if you have 3 feet of grass I would just pull your Jon up to the edge, stake out a screen in front and make a lean to cover with PVC and burlap for the back unless you have money for a real boat blind.
Just hunt out of the boat... is that an option?

Even if your profile is higher than the surrounding vegetation, you should be fine if you conceal all movement. I use rebar to stake out a front facade and to stake out the boat so it isn't as tippy. Good luck.
