I am new to western WA and was wondering if anyone knew any specifics about Pass Lake near Deception Pass? Specifically, I was wondering what species of fish inhabit the lake, which flies i might try, is any spot better than another, is fishing from a float tube effective here?
Thanks for any response.

Right now, leeches and wooly buggers on a sinking line, twitched slow along bottom. It'll be slow there until the weather warms up a bit...there's cutts, bows, and a few browns in Pass. Tubing's the way to go. Once it warms up, try more active patterns...

Although I much prefer to fish Pass Lake when there's a hatch, fishing can be good in the cold. Right along the highway, starting right at the launch, is a good spot to find some pretty hefty browns. In addition to what Fishkisser recommended, I've also done well with minnow patterns fished deep. There's some type of little red and brown minnow in the lake, and when it warms up, you can actually watch big browns slash up schools of them right at the launch. A lot of guys fish Pass with strike indicators and chironomids (BORING) and do well. I'd rather watch paint dry.
Good luck.
By the way, there are also Atlantic Salmon in there, but I've never caught one.
