Topic Options Rate This Topic #80945 - 03/19/99 10:36 PM South Fork Toutle Anonymous Unregistered I was wondering if anybody could give me a report about the South Fork of the Toutle. Its been about five years since I've been down there. I wanted to take my young son down there for some of that catch & release action. Was hoping somebody could let me know if the river had a decent run of Nates in it this year. I know it used to be great before it went to catch & release. Thanks. We fished it regularly in the late 80's/early 90's. For whatever reason, The native winter fish are not rebounding. I don't know if it's local poaching (seen that ALOT) or what. We still do a trip or 2 a year there in the winter just to check it out. There are some fish but alot of empty water too. It's not guaranteed fish like it used to be.
