I have used steelies for Steelhead, and had success. How do they work for Chinook. I was thinking of giving them a shot this weekend. Anyone have any advice on technique? Type of water to use them in. Same as Steelhead, yes/no? Thanks.

I have had some excellent days fishing for kings using copper and silver steelies (I assume you mean the tear drop shaped spoons). My favorite size is 1/4, sometimes with added weight if in deep slots (like in the Reach portion of the columbia). I prefer to dead drift them (changing from a treble to a single hook keeps you from snagging as oftem and hooks the fish better). Cast upstream and let it roll along the bottom. As the current lifts the spoon at the end of the drift...hold on.
