So lets begin.When I moved over here and believe me the transfer from the mainland wasn't easy all my friends that know me where asking me "what are you going to do over there? My answer was always what I have always done but in reality I didn't have a clue but the funny thing was I didn't care I knew it was the right thing.
Maui really is a magical place I have been really blessed to have been excepted as just a good person from some locals that really are the "kine"! This experience of being unconventially excepted by total strangers only because of my friendship with 1 individual is amazing. Its what we live for and for me to find this type of respect in life has been a gift believe me. I'm not going to give you anymore dribble about why or what but just daily events to kind of give you my view.

Day is just begining here so here was yesterday. My property is a choke view upcountry home where if it actuslly rains 2 days a year I'm lucky. So I got chores done and had a urge to roll down the hill even thou it was pow rain in the valley, Maui the pitbull that has befriended me loves truck rides he is so mellow. My brudda in the valley had buckets everywhere so I was on a mission to get his roof patched up or at least a plan. Its funny I have a saying overhere " what doesn't get done today probably won't get done tomorrow" if you get my drift. Yep ts pow make a plan, Time for a little swing back upcountry to lay in the sun since its raining everywhere else. Hell I haven't had a tan in 20 years and it just grows on you here. Today if the golf tourney is still workin I got a date, HUUMM!!!PEACE

Took my first trip to Maui this past September for the honeymoon my wife and I never had. A very diverse place in everyway. Would have liked to gone fishing but opted for surfing instead. While we were their they made the decison to overturn the protection of Honolua Bay as a marine sanctuary which opens the area up to fishing and development. Such an amazing area with world class surf and snorkeling. Sad to say the least....alot of bummed locals in the water.

Yep, so today I got to take the new wahine back home since she is the water girl for the farm they own up hill from me that is a early chore not for the kine that like to sleep in. Mind you now this is a huge fenced in Organic spread where critters are not welcome! I open the gate and drive up aways and she is going ballastic, Deer, deer, deer, Yeah I'm thinking. Over here their is no license no limit killem as you see fit. Dang I'm in heaven race home grab the old guno and return for the bloodshed. Looks like another beautiful day coming! Today is Huli Huli chicken day, which means to flip chicken. I trade labor with my Brudda here I help him with his roadside grind stand in exchange for landscaping duty's up here Definitely get the better end of this deal. I actually enjoy it as I get to meet and talk to all walks of society on these days and the chicken and Porkbutts he cooks is heavenly. My boy was here recently and got to sample some PB fresh off the fire and his Quote was, and mind you he was a Defensive tackle in college and like "Mikey", " Dad that was the best [Bleeeeep!] I have ever ate!" The Kiawe wood they use to cook with over is some of the hardest hottiest wood I have ever seen I can't wait to mix it with some alder to smoke with also as it has its own smokey flavor and I know the two together are going to be the Kine, Later!!!PEACE

Sky hit the Ahi one day in October made a kill but really just been diving more, Lobster and Octopus are not a bad reward for a few hours in the water, been howling trades with just a few windows in the last couple months, Marlin are no show and a few mahi and shibi's on the fads but save my gas money for the kine, the aHi show up in a few months' and I will be runnin and gunnin when that happens. I got a Bruddah with a 35 ft. Force that I will be crewing on this summer I can't wait.

OH yeah, life in Maui! When I finished chores I loaded up the dog picked up the "wahine and headed up mountain. Their is a great drive that switchbacks up the backside of the crater that isn't excessable to the tourist and has got some awesome views. Its funny because I stop to eat lunch just past the gate on a nice little landing let the dog out to run and am enjoying the moment and next thing I know their it is, Mr Michigan and his wahine pounding into my space wanting to know everything about whats up. You can't hide from them on Maui. Fill them with Aloha spirit and send them about their day. The cool thing though was they were walking not driving so I respect that since it is 4 wheel only.


Yep, I screwed up usually I got the 38 in the truck but had switched trucks for the day and of course mid afternoon I could have killed to pigs as I just about had to shoe them out of my way, couple spots they got it so tore up I can't wait to go back up and stock up! Today off to the westside to play in the water with the tourist and a long walk in the sand!!!PEACE

First good rain of the year here last night and when you live on the edge of the desert that is a god send believe me, Maui has been in a drought that is brutal for a long time and when it rains I am very happy!!!

Today is a tackle day, Sunday was the first day I got a twinge to start rigging but today I will start getting my [Bleeeeep!] ready as the want to get back to the killing fields is starting to creep in so it is time to spend some energy their! I don't get to excited about the Mahimahi or smaller tuna but what the hell suppose to be a few windows opening up weather wise so I want to be ready and I am not at the moment anyone want to help!!!PEACE

Life is so alive over here. Yesterday I went to a pot luck over at pat simons place. It was a get together of musicians that have a pot luck once a month and just jam. Freakin unreal, the highlight of the evening was actually Pat's son who is so gifted in his own right its amazing . So yaa the energy keeps flowing but dam I'm tired from all this positive crap!


On a side note I actually smoked a bunch of fish this week, you have to do it at night when the temp's down turned out the bomb, when you guys come visiting that salmon or steelhead you bring me goes a long ways and is shared by some really great people!!!PEACE

Ah yes the dream.It has actually reminded me of The OP the last few days as the rain has finally arrived and my plants have finally relaxed a little bit,its strange when you really do pray for rain.
This has been a fun week, been playing with a deck for a yurt(remember the 70's sort of) for my wahine as she wants a little hide away room to play in. But the fun part of the week is starting to prepare for some Fish On over here, as in we are building are own FAD which require the striping of a jet ski down to nothing and alot of foam and fiberglass I would explain more of what is up but the Island boys I play with would cut my balls off!
Today is a little pig scouting I have found the honey hole I just got to figure out their habits as it is Bow only and no dogs in the area I want to hunt so figuring out the table to bed habit is what is on the agenda. Low 80's sunny today boyz!!!PEACE

Dialing in the new wahine the last month has taken alot of time away from my man time with my Bruddah but yesterday we managed to feed our testosterone level to the tune of 4 hours in the water and scored some great grinds. Fresh vegi's out of the garden, and choked a chicken to throw in the pot, ALL RIGHT!. Today going to go see reefer and talk about you wankers and see what the island brings us! Went to a great birthday party over the weekend speaking of food. Pretty cool when your the only Haole in the crowd except for the wahine's I brought with and believe the story's were flying what a great time. I will tell you cracker I can be at times. Huge, huge pot of chicken but the skins were floating and some of the grinds over here still befuddle me, so I'm scooping the skins up and putting them on my plate when this wahine walks up and says you know there's chicken on the bottom,Duh.!!!PEACE

Have a couple visitors this weeks so yesterday we drove around the west mountain. Scenic drive I like to take every now and then. The highlight of the day is I stop and cut a bundle of bananna's down at a friends uncles place it is up in a tropical valley that is totally not a visitor friendly area.

So when I am walking back to the truck with my bananna's the neighbors come running up with machete's to see what the fauk is going on. Scared the [Bleeeeep!] out of my friends but all was good, Uncle Rueben had passed recently and they had not seen anyone up at his place for weeks and were just making sure no one was messing with the place. I thanked them for their vigilance and talked story for awhile, but the look on my friend face when they popped out of the brush with machete's was priceless!!!PEACE

Yes the beat goes on, wicked tradewinds have been blowing for a week so cleanup around the mini marriott has been a full time job, but yes we been mixing in a few beach runs etc,. Was funny the other day one of my wahine's girlfriend from the mainland was here for 6 weeks (lucky girl) but left monday, so we headed out to scrape up some sun and sand, I needed a long walk. So I am driving thru the valley and its blowing 50 and I ask the girls if they want to turn around and head back home to lay by the pool since it was nice upcountry, nope they want me to push on. Glad I did as it was calm and warm and even got to see a couple of free boobie shots before our beach time was run out, those two wahine's together make me feel like a teenager.

This last week was one of those weeks where you loved to watch the sun come up and hated to see it go down. Lots of friends visiting right now and I have been enjoying their company, you crackers know who I am talking about, just remember what happens on Maui stays on Maui!!!PEACE

Are you talking about that 1-lane goat path / dirt road / Hwy 340 around the north part of west Maui, past where the pavement ends and rental cars go to die? I got pinned against the cliff on that stretch of hell twice by idiots blowing the other direction. No wonder they don't want rental vehicles on that stretch LOL. No fun backing up for 100 yards on a 1-lane dirt path with sheer cliff and a deep ravine on one side of the road because someone comes around a corner and there is not room for both vehicles.

Hell Mingo I have driven that road in reverse at some point, I love hauling ass backwards just to freak everyone out. I agree it is an adventure. I use to like to take the 340 over to the west side from the plane when I was vacationing here, It would just naturally slow me down to Island time right away!!!PEACE
