I'm not a TU member but I'm very curious to see what turns out of that meeting regarding the BAN initiative. I hope the state council guys get their heads handed to them on a platter if they keep this stance of no supporting BAN or even if they decide to remain silent on the issue.

As a side note, it looks like the BAN guys are really getting their act together. I just had lunch with a campaign consultant who is working with BAN. The consulting group is the same one that nearly defeated the football stadium referendum while Paul Allen spent over a million dollars compared to their $150K or so. Some may not like the idea of spending money on consultants but that's what it's going to take to get this thing passed. They know the process, the media and how to shape perception better than any of us do.

I personally hope the BAN guys do get their act together, and have 3 suggestions:
* Update their web site, which still says there will be petitions at the Kingdome sports show (January)
* Answer their e-mails
* Send petitions to the bunch of us who requested the petition forms last fall!

Funny you mention the web site Scaly. My lunch with the campaign consultant was to talk about a makeover for the site. I sent the BAN people a letter last fall offering to help out on that end but never heard back.

When the hired hands came on board they convinced the BAN people to get some help on that end. I'll be working with some other folks in the region and we hope to have a new site up by the end of the month. Check out http://www.columbia-snake.org to get an idea of what type of look/approach we want to take.

Also feel free to email me or post here any suggestions you or others would like to see on the new site.

Bruce
