They'll have to put those dammits on the wheels like you used to have on your bike to make noise.
Or they can play a soundtrack of V-10's and V-12's while the electric cars go around the track.
Everyone said it would be the death of F1 when they eliminated the V12's and V10's - but they are still going strong running V8's. It might be tough to keep people interested in electric race cars, though.

Dan, you can just stand there by the fence and go "Vroom!" every time one drives by.
One small bonus, I guess, is that you'll hear a lot of other things that are usually drowned out by the motors?

There is a kid on my street who rides his bike back and forth all summer making motorcycle sounds while he goes with his voice. It is about the sweetest thing I have ever seen. I really hope he doesn't get beat up too much in school. He is a good kid.

F1 has been dabbling with KERS (kinetic energy recovery system) for a few years now, but this is getting carried away just a bit.
When it doesn't sound or smell like a race car any more, then it isn't.
