A few years ago I put a couple of game cameras and salt lick out on the back of my property along with cracked corn and apples once in a while.
It was interesting to see the different critters out there and I literally have thousands of pictures.
Anyway I had to pull the cameras a couple of years ago when a new family moved in and I started to get pictures of the teenage boy that lives there even though my property is posted.
I confronted the kid time and time again called the sherriff all to no avail.
Someoneone climbed over my gate got into the boat and stole my rainshadow rod and reel. Then my mole trap dissapeared from the pasture (are they really illegal?)
I new it would be wise to pull the cameras before they were seen and dissappeared so that was that.
I did learn a little bit about patterning deer. The back of my property is on a slope that faces north. I only got deer on camera between may and october when the weather started to warm up.
The hill is a lot cooler in the summer and everything stays green longer.
Here are just a few of the pictures with the cameras not real good quality pictures but ok.

(Not a game camera picture )My secret Elk hunting spot If I could just get him to cross the road Maybe I'll try apples next year

Buck in my back yard

Can you spot all three deer in this picture?

Reminds me of a song... Never know what you might see out there.

smile

Just got home from Illinois,
Lock the front door, oh, boy!
Got to sit down,
Take a rest on the porch.
Imagination sets in,
Pretty soon I'm singin'.
Doo, doo, doo,
Lookin' out my back door.

There's a giant doing cartwheels,
A statue wearin' high heels.
Look at all the happy
Creatures dancing on the lawn.
A Dinosaur Victrola
List'ning to Buck Owens.
Doo, doo, doo,
Lookin' out my back door.

Tambourines and elephants
Are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride
On the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo-doo.
Wond'rous apparition
Provided by magician.
Doo, doo, doo,
Lookin' out my back door.

Tambourines and elephants
Are playing in the band.
Won't you take a ride
On the flyin' spoon?
Doo, doo-doo.
Bother me tomorrow,
Today I'll buy no sorrows.
Doo, doo, doo,
Lookin' out my back door.

Forward troubles Illinois,
Lock the front door, oh, boy!
Look at all the happy
Creatures dancing on the lawn.
Bother me tomorrow,
Today I'll buy no sorrows.
Doo, doo, doo,
Lookin' out my back door.

That is too cool. I hope you don't get some unwanted visitors due to your pics of the salt lick and apples. Too bad you had to pull your cameras cause of vandals and thieves.

It's Not Illegal to have a Salt lick or apples on your own property Unless you are using them to as a bait for hunting.

Correction...

Deer and elk it is okay. Baiting bear is illegal.

You are only taking pictures- no harm intended and I think it is amazing the diversity of species you have captured. Throw a bear, a meth addict and an opossum in there and you have a Pierce County Grand Slam. Seriously- that is a nice back yard.

Keep it going!

Fearing vandalism I have not taken taken any pictures for a couple of years now and the salt lick is long gone, although I often think of hauling another one back there for the deer that pass by. I was advised by the game department not to leave apples on the ground as although the deer love them they could attract coyotes who sometimes eat fruit and and the rodents who are attracted to them. A human fed coyote is a dangerous one as they lose the fear of humans.
With all of the construction that has been taking place a lot of wildlife habitat has been destroyed in pierce county thus concentrating wildlife into smaller areas.
A number of years ago I sent for a package from the game department that gave me a couple of signs to post and taught me how to manage the wildlife on my property building nesting boxes bat houses ect, Don't know if they still have the program I believe it was called the Backyard wildlife program.
Being a Hunter and Fisherman my whole life, the diversity of the wildlife on my property gives me a small scale opportunity to enjoy at home what I have enjoyed my whole life.
When we have a wet winter the pasture sometimes floods bringing in the ducks and geese that attracts the bald eagles who go after the ducklings in the spring and our resdent redtail hawk who is always after the squirrels and rabbits. Over the years I have seen lots of things that most people who are not hunters or accustomed to the outdoors would not even notice. One year I sat still for an hour watching a weasel clean out a nest of mallard chicks next to my neighbors shed. It pays to slow down relax and notice small things unlike the fast paced world we live in.
You mentioned Possum Forgot picture of possum so here it is and a couple more.

By the way that first picture I posted of the spike elk was taken on opening morning of General elk season in downtown packwood.
