Fished Samish head for Kings & Coho on Monday (8/23)was greated with two Non-Native 150' purseiners and about eight smaller gillnet boats netting the crap out of the bay and surrounding waters. How do you get a bite with all of that #@*@)#*$ raping the water. Don't expect any great numbers of fish to reach the Samish River any time soon. Support B.A.N.

Bobber Down, I feel your pain. Actually, it's probably just my pain from having too many fishing trips ruined by nets, also. You name the place and I've been there fishing after the nets went through. That is an exercise in futility. Even commercial trollers have better sense than to try and fish an area after seiners and gillnetters have stripped it. Sportanglers contribute far more, than commercials, to the economy of this state, while utilizing just ten percent of the resource. Why are they still left nursing at the rearwardly positioned mammary gland? The answer can be found in Olympia. Get everybody registered to vote while there's still time. In November, make sure they get to the polls to support I-696(BAN).
