alot of people think Israel is just some kind of pussy, history has proven otherwise, and Syria of all people should know that...

lets start with 1967...

the Six Day War, Isreal fought against 4 different Air Forces, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, and Pakistan (with aircraft from several other countries due to loses), Israel destroyed 400 enemy aircraft in 1 day... ONE day... not to mention them flattening them and wining that war in 6 days... they acheived complete Air Superiority in a whopping 3 hours after the inital bombings... solid work...

1973

the Yom Kippur War, again, Israel against Egypt and Syria, but they had help this time, from multiple countries, Israel bombed the Syrian HQ in Damascus, destroyed the bridges on the Suez Canal, and shot down 450 enemy fighters... Israel won, and a cease fire was declared...

1981

Iraq Nuclear Plant (Operation Opera), Isreal hit the plant and is the only time in history that a nuclear facility has ever been targeted... Israel destroyed the Iraqi's future nuclear plans....

1982


Peace for the Gallilee, aka the Lebanon War... Israel shoots down 100 Syrian fighters, and 19 SAM's in ONE DAY again dominating Air Superiority ... Israel won the war, but years later, Syria completely controlled Lebanon...


those are just some key times in that region where Israel has faced huge enemies, and completely flattens them each and every time... what people dont realize, is that the US is bad ass yes, we have the best sh!t, and will blow you up with the best of em... Israel on the other hand, has ALL our sh!t, and uses it in combat WAY more than we do, so they are far more expierienced at using it in most cases in combat environments...

so in a nutshell, Syria should be glad if it were us that would have attacked them, as the same for Iran... because Israel doesnt play around, and rarely loses battles... the idiots thinking they are going up against Israel, and have a shot at winning, have the same shot as Wee Man beating Mike Tyson in a boxing match.... aint happening, even with a nutt shot....

I'm not holding my breath nor losing any sleep over it either. But as allies go, Israel has been a major PITA since 1947. They spy on us, steal the technology we haven't given them yet, and own enough of Congress such that we give them around $3 billion in military aid every year. With a friend like that, who needs enemies?

If this thing gets fully off the ground, we will bear witness to a momentous chapter in world history. If you think Israel's going to see this thing through on their own, I'm here to tell you that you've got another thing coming. Thanks to us (Hollywood, specifically), in terms of advanced weaponry, Israel is a force to be reckoned with. Their troops and special forces are among the world's elite. But do they have the shear numbers it will take to defeat their numerous enemies? Submitted, for your consideration, is my answer of "No."

As much as I would like to see this get settled without massive allied intervention, we may be on the cusp of our next disastrous, unfunded foreign conflict. I, for one, hope this comes to an end very soon.

If Syria were to attack Israel, they would find themselves in a two front war, and it wouldn't end well for them. FSA would certainly take advantage of that. Iran has no direct route to Syria, except by sea as an "end around" Saudi Arabia, so their forces would likely just end up at the bottom of the Red Sea.

I would venture a guess that we would throw our hat into the ring as well if things got going, but primarily using our air or sea assets, and minimal ground troops. Maybe some SF guys, but that's about it.

it seems as tho Israel isnt targeting Syria, but actually Iran, by striking Iranian weapons being shipped through the country to Hezbolah...

keep your eyes open boys and girls, those revamped MOP/MOAB's we just re did up are about to get put into use possibly, and someones Nuclear Facililties are going to get leveled...

i agree Chuck... Israel can handle this... if Syria uses chemical weapons against Israel however, then i would fully agree with the US going in and flattening that regime.... but only if the use chemical weapons on civilians in Israel, untill then, let Israel beat the sh!t outta them...
