My lamestream liberally biased newspaper printed a long column featuring this story. Probably wasn't the only one that did. So what's your gripe?

Also, there isn't any evidence that I know of indicating concealed carry as a causal factor. Correlation does not equal causation, remember?

I love how Duc thinks it's concealed carry. He's almost sure.

Discounting the equally (or more) likely theories:
a) It's the Brady Bill (that passed in 1993)
b) It's a cultural shift after the World Trade Center bombing (March 93)
c) The internet became super popular and people spent more time indoors
d) Frank Zappa died.

Sol Dunce, it's been reported in every paper, and on every news show this week...where'd you get it? Super Secret Wingnut Email Chain? If you paid attention to something other than wondering who to hate today and who's trying to steal your Wheaties today you'd have noticed that.

You'd have also likely noticed that about ten thousand things have changed since 1993, and that the rise of concealed carry likely has as much to do with it as you and a Mensa meeting have in common.

I sincerely doubt anyone reported an actual link between concealed carry and reduced gun violence...well, no one except Sol Dunce.

If the question he's really asking is why no one but his super secret wingnut email chain reported it...it's because it's not a fact.

If you read the article nowhere does it posit that theory...and it posits a lot of theories...including researchers who say that the establishment of Roe v. Wade has reduced unwanted pregnancies and at risk children who are more likely to become criminals.

I wonder if Sol Dunce's dumbass-stream media reported that?

Seems that this story came out in the "lamestream" media on Tuesday. Sol Duc posts about it late Wednesday apparently having only heard about the story from his right wing sources days later. Maybe Sol Duc needs a new news source that is more up to date.

No, they didn't report the statistical link. They did not say why, but I reasonably speculate that they didn't report any factors that correlated but did not seem causal. Responsible reporting would include significant factors, not insignificant ones.

It was SD's inference of a connection between concealed carry and the gun crime reduction. He's the one who posited that it made a difference, and several of us responded that evidence doesn't support it. The real difference is that we pointed out that SD once again made a stupid post, not that he likely cares, or that you do either, I guess.

It's not about guiding anyone into my belief stream. That would make life boring, and possibly imperfect. What it is about is avoiding the suggestion of a correlative factor being a causitive one when it isn't. This would be called using critical thinking skills, something that people who can think, think is a good idea.
