Fishy

How did he do that? He signed the G.I. Bill Continuation Act and Bush doubled the amount of GI Bill college benefits while providing a 13-week extension to federal unemployment benefits. I think you must have meant Obama cut the amount of GI Bill benefits.

Under Ronny, a GI had to contribute and would only be paid a certain amount directly related to his financial contribution instead of the GI bill that sent all those Vietnam vets to school.
You should be old enough to remember that.

Fishy

I'm old enough to remember they started doing that in '77. GI Bill benefits were scheduled to end in '89 and Reagan made them permanent with the GI Bill Continuation Act.

Ronny changed how those benefits were paid and that vets had to contribute an equal part.

Come on you should know this.

Fishy

As seldom as agree with Todd on most things political, publicly funded elections and term limits are the only way this country will get anyone elected that has not been bought and paid for.

As long as we continue to let people spend billions to get elected we will get only those beholden to their donors. Todd is right.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

blackmouth is too busy trying to bash Toff to realize that Toff is right, and as usual, blackmouth is wrong.

He's been wrong so often that he's now an expert at it.

America's future took a huge hit when the Supremes ruled that corporations were people and money was free speech.

There's a short list of folks who pretty much assure me that I'm correct, and they do it by disagreeing with me.

blackmouth definitely has assured me that I am correct on this one.

The above in red is what I was talking about! It completely changed what the GI bill was, it went from a paid program to a contribution program.

Step away from the radiation Hank!

I don't know how you could forget what you said, but just to refresh the memory you seem to be lacking, it was: "Ronny cut the GI bill on funding education for veterans. Others may have tried but Ronny actually did it, scumbag!!!"

Then, just to confirm what a dimbulb you are, you let all of us know you think Reagan was elected prior to when the VEAP program was initiated, but still think it's his fault anyway.

Maybe it's you who could use a little radiation. wink

BTW, the GI Bill was set to expire in '89 and Reagan signed the bill to make it permanent. Included in that bill was a provision where members of the reserves would be eligible as well.

If you're at all interested (or capable), google up some of his campaign speeches where he was saying it was a shame that vets hadn't had an increase in GI Bill benefits in too many years.

It would appear that I should have googled, I had my dates wrong.
Now you can do your dance of joy, at least I can admit when I am wrong!

Seems the IRS spent the taxpayers money on 501C4 Teaparty groups to produce the political sideshow.
