Been in the AHE/Master Hunter program since 1998. Met some cool people, and some tools. The tools I met were guys who thought being a master hunter was an honorary title that automatically made them better than everyone else. For me, it is just a way to get a crack at some good tags. I think I've killed 8 elk through the program.

One of the parts of the AHE Master Hunter program is that every 4 or 5 years you have to put in 40 hours of volunteer service. Projects are related to wildlife, property/landowner relations, or other projects deemed acceptable to the WDFW.

I've built and put up maybe 50 wood duck boxes, repaired some fences, helped out on an elk tagging/collaring survey, and ran a few DU greenwing events.

Looks like this year it is garbage clean-up to start with. Some people really do suck.

This was on WEYCO land near the crossover road up the Wynoochee Valley. (My Redhook school of photography skills are top notch.)

More garbage clean-up tonight! This weekend I get to patrol WEYCO land for ATV's. Just a heads up, they are going to get a little more aggressive this year, especially in the North Elma area.

Some stuff is boring, mundane, and other stuff is sorta cool. Hopefully I get to do this again.

I'll keep you up to date on the projects.

Today's first load.

That dump trailer in the back was yesterday's load. Off for one more load. Yeehaw!

You should be able to get about $10 bucks or more for each of the appliances at the recycling center. Pays for the gas and lowers the dump bill. I have a center about 1/2 mile away so it really can be convenient to dump stuff rather than drag it 15 miles to the dump.

Not worried about trying to recoup the gas cost, and a few places around here have a 500lb minimum limit. Only drove about 30 miles yesterday. Not seeing a lot of scrap metal in the crap I've been picking up. If I did see a lot, then I would stockpile it until I had a load, but as it is, I don't want to stockpile a bunch of other people's crap in my property.

This weekend's projects.

Saturday's gig was easy. Pick up a little garbage, hang out watching a trailhead for illegal ATV access.

Found about 30 of these.

...and left it much cleaner.

A separate work crew will be back for the tires.

Showed up to Sunday's site and found some tires, just waiting.

and a tub and other crap.

After a few hours of attention....

Makes you want to really just shoot someone in the face.

I think it is because it really sends a message of just how much you hate the other person. Actions sometimes speak louder than words.

Today's project: All over the place.

Headed up the Wishkah Valley to start. Didn't have to go too far.

First one of the day. Found way too many.

All better.

Next stop.

Better now.

......on to part two......

Headed over to the Nooch watershed and the crossover road. Didn't have to look too far.

54 needles here.

and some tires...

and some more of these....

Somebody dropped their kit.

Next load was towards Raymond. Took the first WEYCO property road to the left to see what I could find.

You get the idea. This was the result.

People are pigs.

You have some good Karma coming your way, DF.

Don't know if I would go for the face, maybe just a good ass-full of shotgun pellets.

I'll try and round some up for you. wink

Funny thing is I found at least 4 of those "quick pen" insulin injectors, so some diabetic/meth/heroin addict was throwing their crap out in a dagerous manner. Found a number of other more elaborate "kits". Glasses case, lighter, spoon, cotton ball, empty tiny baggies, and fresh syringes. Just gave me the willies even though I was double gloved.

I stopped counting around 85.
