Are the Brads version pretty much my only option?
I was hoping to locate some lighted maglips but they don't make them, saw another company vortex or they look just like vortex going $14 a plug, didn't want them that badly. Does Worden's make one or anyone else of quality? I really don't like buying the Brads, there products just don't hold up more than a couple trips with my experience.

Luhr Jensen makes a lighted Kwikfish and J-plug (Tomic knockoff).

The brads lighted wigglers suck, only about 1 out of 4 work outta the box.
Id like to find an alternate lighted plug for summer steelhead. Let us know what you find that works

I suppose it would depend where you bought them and how long they were on the shelves. I just know I have some with hool keepers on them that are over 3 years old.

Yea maybe they were on the shelf a while. Heard rumors that you can recharge them with a 9v battery by putting one hook on a terminal and the other hook on the oth, know if there's any truth to that?

I don't, but that's pretty cool if it works.

Bought three of the vortex look a likes this weekend at two different stores, and guess what? NONE OF THEM WORK. $14 a plug. WTF! Buyer beware...Had to use the crappy Brads again.

I bought one and the battery terminals were slightly wider than the 2 batteries were, when they were installed so the light wasn't operating due to a poor connection. I made a small wedge out of a piece of a pop can, installed the batteries, put the wedge in between the batteries and the connection was fine and the light worked well. Much brighter than the Brads.

Not saying this should happen with a $12 plug, but at least it got the $12 plug working.
