I find that typical jigheads have too long of a shank and tend to work its way off during long fights. I use a short-shanked hook and thread a pink worm onto it and the line. At the head of worm, I crimp a splitshot onto the line. This allows the worm to remain flexible (since it is threaded onto the line not just the shank) and I get the benefit of a short-shanked hook. Has anybody else tried this method of rigging worms with success?
