My brother lives down in Centralia and he said he has heard that it has been real slow lately. But, all the people he knows fish from the bank. One note: This river is traditionally slow in Feb as their is not much of a native run on it.

I havn't been to the Cowlitz in the last 2 weeks but I was making trips down ther the last few weekends of January and I sure didn't think it was crowded. the last trip I made I only saw about 10 boats doing the clay banks. as for staying away because it's crowded, maybe he went down and it was his first time, like my dad that day with 10 boats, thought it was bizzy. but then again some people are just pricks. if you wanna fish the Cowlitz go for it I don't think there are many people on it YET for a reason. NO FISH and if they have a good springer run then it might get bizzy. my 2 bits.
