Spring break is almost here and a buddy of mine from Arizona wants to go fishing. He has never caught a stealhead and I have never fished for winter stealhead. I was just wandering were a couple of guys with lots of time and energy could go to catch a stealhead.
Thanks

Check the regs--if it's open, go there. Might be more a matter of when, rather than where...clock river hours and catch fish. Took my buddy 90 hours to catch his first two this year...I'm ashamed to admit how long it took me to get 6!

Keep 'em sharp...

The upper Sky (Reiter up to the fork's) is great water in March. I take friend's who don't fish much up there to fish 5/8oz. Pot-o-Gold spoon's(brass, chrome, green&chrome, brass&orange) Work lot's of water, unless you get into fish(don't leave fish to find fish) I like to get above likely looking water cast straight out drift, and then let it flutter into the spot reeling just enough to keep it off the rock's. Don't try drift fishing this water up here, it's super grabby. Jig's under a float are pretty effective in some smaller slot's in boulder patches (pink/wht,purple are two good choices) Release a couple fatty nat.s for Me!
