Oh GOD! Here it comes!!! I was WONDERING when it would really start hitting the fan!

I had the most wonderful Chinook sesason last year! Boy, I hope they don't tighten things up too much and steal my joy! It musta been heaven to have fished in the early days!!! No big environmental messes...strong runs...fewer people fishing!!!

Thanks for letting us know this Jim! I appreciate the info...I'll have to keep on top of this! I've been quaking in my boots, waiting to see what they were going to decide about my fishing season on the salt AND the rivers!!!

The PFMC is The federal Government from Wa D.C. The WFWD is a state agency who is just informing you of what is going on. They do not set the west coast policy on thier own.
I think we should change the topic to PFMC like the artical states it is just on the WDFW website.Most of the WDFW employees enjoy fishing just like you and I,and they are pretty good at it. I dont think that they like the closures any more than we.

That is true, but the WDFW always follows what PFMC says to do. Or they make it even worse.

Why is there such a huge diversity between the 3 options? More is better? Option 1 would seem to be the most favorable. I'm sure it's not what it used to be, but it sure beets the hell out of option 3.
I had a pretty good year on "Springs" last year fishing out of Sooke and Ucluelet. Having never fished much in Washington Ocean waters, I suspect that I'll be speaking Canadian again this summer, eh.
