I agree the back end of this contract will be bad, but Cano's a consistent bat, and he plays a full season. Having a big name free agent makes it easier to attract other free agents... Just ask Cano's former team. It's not my money, so I like the deal.

Lou Pinella is a great manager but he is not a guy who develops talent and he hates playing rookies. The Jeff Baker article is very interesting to say the least and it definitely confirms the rumors and thoughts that the front office of the M's has been a cluster you know what for quite some time. While I am very grateful for the Nintendo Corp for buying this team and keeping it here, I think it is time for ownership change and a cleaning of the office from the top down.
