Incoming tide this morning was the first time I have seen a movement with number show this year. A bunch of Coho were jumping for several minutes when the water was a couple feet over the bar. The rain last night wouldn't do much but the barometer drop or something evidently did! Good sign for folks!

And as the day wore on still fish showing. This is not a rain stampede but incoming they showed and out on the deck now with my cigar and beer I seen several break water in 20 minutes. That is pretty good for day / month.

Going to update and then shut up. Since the thunderstorm and the little bit of rain which did nothing to flows Coho and Chinook are on the move on both Chehalis and Hump. Pressure drop or whatever this is even earlier than a couple years ago when the vast majority of the Coho and Chinook were past the 101 bridge before the QIN went in. It is not going to be a different year I think.

I have seen some pictures of some dandy fish c&r down by you the last couple days! Fingers crossed they keep comin!

NOAA says at Porter a jump in flows not a lot the but fresh water around the 16th and similiar on the Satsop. Might be nothing but maybe something.

Hmm, I'm seeing a lesser amount of precipitation forecast. The models disagree. European -There looks to be some ridging, higher temperatures around that time frame.

I'm looking for Albacore. SST, Chlorophyll, etc... I believe the water temperatures will quell the expected forecast.

No idea 10 day forecast didn't look like much rain maybe some the 15th. The flow forecast had a bounce and it all looks a bit odd.

JJ and I were shooting the breeze about fishing and I thought I would share what we are seeing. After that movement a few days back not much showing or back to blah. I am sure fish are coming in but it doesn't appear to be a lot of them or they are heads down motoring upstream. Hopefully it changes soon.

To piggyback on Rivrguy, if what survives is what successfully spawns what does it take for a salmon, today, to spawn? Especially when we fish the **ck out of the hatchery runs-in the 80-90% rate. They don't bite, they migrate through the bays where and when the nets aren't out, the migrate so the seals don't see them (in small groups or singly??), and so on. Should come as no surprise that there are, or were, a lot of coho in PS streams that showed up after the nets went after chum.

If we constantly remove 90+% of the run for us to eat what's left has to rather good at evading us. I suspect that if we went back to purely wild runs, with the necessary low harvests to let 50-75% spawn, that hook and line fishing would be better in terms of fish per hour but we could only take relatively few. And, if Ricker was right, they would be bigger.

i have looking everyday down in Aberdeen.. i have only seen one good day of fish jumping and that was 3 sundays ago.. otherwise one or two at the most..

Kinda fits what I observed. When the bay opens maybe Doc will chase some upstream!

Skinny water fishermen will be glad to see 9/16 get here.....many Adult Coho all ready have sore mouths, not many Chinook showing.

That's all I will say ..... just glad, I'm retired and have boat AND tides are right!!!!
