Can someone help me verify the events that transpired after the Hawk-49 game? Here is how I piece it together.

SF last offensive play, Sherman tips the ball and is intercepted by the Hawks.
Sherman goes over to Crabtree and pats him on the butt and tries to shake hands.
Crabtree pushes his face mask, setting Sherman off.
Sherman gives the choke signal and gets a penalty.
After the game, Sherman gives 2 interviews; one to Fox and and another to ESPN.
Next day, Sherman and texts an apology, along with a press release from Carroll.

While I would have preferred an "act like you been there before and will go there again" situation by Sherman during the interviews, I can see where if, after trying to make a sincere congratulations to Crabtree after the game and the guy pushes your face mask, I could see getting worked up in the interview, especially after Crabtree had said some things to Sherman prior to the game.

Just trying to put this in perspective and move on to the SB. What am I missing?

What are you missing?

Apparently the sand-packed vagina that everyone crying about the interview has.

They ought to take all those whiny-assed pansies and make them watch a hockey game without pissing themselves.

my guess is the people that think sherman is too cocky have not been listening to broncos fans since sunday. i ran into a elderly prick wearing a champ bailey jersey yesterday that would have made sherman blush.

while i understand not liking a team because of the players on the team, my dislike of the broncos is almost entirely about the three + years i lived in colorado surrounded by their fans.

Game wasn't over when Sherm ran up to Crabtree. Apparently Crabtree said something to Sherman at a charity event last summer that Sherman hasn't forgot.

An interesting aspect of this is the The Sherm did a radio interview yesterday and said he was mic'd for the game. He said that we will be able to hear what he was saying out there during the game and that he has nothing to hide. He said he was polite and just happy to be playing in that game or something to that effect. The media is just making a story up and I'll bet that when we get to listen to the recording the media won't put as much effort into cleaning up The Sherms reputation as they put into smearing it.

The Sherm opened his trap, and sprung it himself. All the media did is present it.....at least initially.

It doesn't matter that Sherman's adrenaline fueled interview reply was partly because of lingering issues between he and Crabtree. What really matters is that Sherman is amassing an incredible amount of publicity because of it. That much of the publicity is negative matters not a whit. What Sherman did, intentionally or not, was "build his brand," and that has both tangible and intangible value for a celebrity. Sherman was like second in his high school class and is a Stanford grad. He is smart. Taking advantage of any opportunity to build his brand will serve him well.

Maybe because it would nullify a lot of this story for the media and show that The Sherm isn't all that bad.

This story is showing how bad the football media is. Some guy was talking about how The Sherms outburst was typical of someone high on drugs. That is straight up conjecture and he should be liable to speculate like that.

And I agree with FP about how the media is full of hidden sandy vagina Whiners fans who put up a front of non bias.

In the end we all know the Hawks will always be one of the most hated if not the most hated teams in the NFL. However, that speculation of Sherm being high really bothered me for some reason. Journalism is dead.

The Seahawks won't end up as one of the NFL's most hated teams. Most of the time the league and the media don't even pay attention to the Hawks way up here in South Alaska. I missed many games this year and would wait to watch the highlights on the NFL channel. Most of the time the Hawks were one of the last teams to have the highlights shown and then it was about 30 seconds worth. This on a channel owned by the NFL so I don't worry too much about their perception by the rest of the country.

That being said, if Sherman wants to proclaim he is the best corner, fine with me. There are plenty of outlets for him to do that. The only problem I have with it is that as good as he is, he still needs the other 10 guys to do their jobs effectively so he can excel at his responsibility and his outburst overshadows an incredible total team defensive performance last Sunday. Cam Chancellor was huge in that game, as was every lineman and line backer. Chancellor alone had an interception, de-cleated Vernon Davis AGAIN, and caused Crabtree to alligator arm a slant pass.

Unfortunately, instead of the rest of the country talking and hearing about one of the best defensive performances in professional football and one of the best conference championship games ever, we are left with Shermangate for the rest of the week.

Here is a interview with the Stanford HC who was Sherman DC (I believe) talking about Sherman. He also discusses how Bill Walsh described his DBs. Walsh is regarded as a great coach and coached in an era when football was tough and the players were allowed to play tough. I guess in that era the fans were tougher as well since a lot seemed to be butt hurt over the interview.

My wife and I watched and re-watched the Sherm interview with Erin Andrews. We were dying laughing each time.

I would have laughed less if it was Crabs making the catch and talking game, but still would have found it highly entertaining. Listening to Russell Wilson spit out cliché after cliché is about as boring as watching paint dry. Hearing someone speak in a real, raw manner is very refreshing.

Sherm is really building his brand, I mean he had a Nike commercial, and a Beats by Dre commercial during the NFCCG.

It is funny because Sherm and Erin Andrews had a big hug right before he went crazy on air. I know that part of the speech was adrenaline and part was calculated shtick.

Also, this is the 2nd best thing to ever happen to Erin Andrews (keyhole is #1), she sucks as a field reporter from a technical sense.

Also X2 why haven't we put any pictures of Erin Andrews in this thread?

What you are missing is that is not socially acceptable in Seattle to be heterosexual, have a big dick, get plenty of women, be a winner or be loud, confident and skilled. At least Sherman is not the typical Seattle passive-aggressive pussy.

What you are missing is that is not socially acceptable in the NFL for a black man to speak proudly with emotion instead of a demure "yes massa."

What you are missing in the giant dune of sand in the 40-whiners vaginas.

Here is what I wrote to Hankster in the Niners-Fawks Smak Tawk thread, I'm quoting it here, so you don't have to read that huge steaming pile of schit of a thread.

He's probably a top 5 player in the NFL, you can't hate him for telling the truth. I dunno about you, but it's goddamn hilarious seeing everyone getting butthurt about him. He was a little rude to Crabtree I suppose, but I guarantee worse things were said during the game.

Crabtree was sh!ttalking before the game and during the game but nobody is butthurt about that. You know why? Because he's a loser so nobody bothered to interview him on national TV after the game. Crabtree can't even talk sh!t this year because they didn't win. Go squirt some mayo in your mouth and watch big black cock cuckold porn if you can't handle Sherman's rant after he won the game. Man the fukk up.

Spot on post FP!

Speaking of building a brand, Sherman's rant doesn't seem to be hurting sales of his jersey.
He is the only defensive player in the top 10.
