I have to disagree with ya. Maybe a few posts are not fishing related, but the majority are. I've got nothing but positive replies to my fishing questions.

STLHDR-I know there are alot of posts that are informational and pertain to fishing but there is alot of bitching also.

I don't want to sound like an ass, but what is this post? Bitch or fish story? I have found that it's about 50/50, like the fish we get.

I just think we could have more about fishing storys,tech.& try to help if someone has a good question.I see alot of questions asked and get very little response.But when it comes to nets or C&R there is a ton.Don't talk about it try to do something about it.my 2 cents

You put it right on the money. I have been on this bord for about 1 year. I have watched it grow from a few hundred users to now around 1,000. yes there is allot more crying and people looking to start an argument than before, I like yer idea if ya don't like it don't read it or respond and people will get the idea and go away. if ya can't handle the little things get help or go fishing. life is to short to wory about this stuff. I think everyody gets allot of help when they post a question. yes there are exceptions but like has been pointed out in the past some times people get tired of saying the same thing if people would look back to other post on the same topic then they wouldn't need to ask the same question. I have found this board to be one of the biggest tools in learning the art of fishing.

Puresteel, thats really all your gonna get is alot of political talk and some general fishin bull same stuff you'll see in fishing and hunting news. No one will post there secreat methods or places...Including you I would imagine! We all try to help but somtimes the questions are to specific and would require devolging information. It took me 17 years to be able to catch fish at the rate I catch them now. I could teach it in one season or a couple good trips to a person that listens and understands well. But why would I do that. This thing (the internet) makes it already easier than it used to be. When I started on this forum there were a few...but now theres tons and everybody seems to want info and tips and even bitches about it. Theres just too many people now...wanting info and not giving it. Please dont take this wrong its just my opinion of the situation.

I agree with Bob D, it has changed from its original orgin. Tempers seem to parallel poor fishing. When things get a little heated,at least Bob puts a lid on it now. Funny how "Have a Nice Day " turns into a political issue.

Also to add to the post I posted above...Some fish for food. Thats OK, but Most of the people who talked fishing a year ago on this site were catch and release. That said Ill help out any C & R guy. But with the increasing numbers of meat fisherman on this site I will clam up because I chose to fish C & R and will always...I dont like to eat Salmon and Steelies. But I would never help a guy asking for advice on were and how to catch more steelies if I knew he or someone reading the post was gonna kill! I dont condone killing Native Steelies but since its legal I also would not respect you any less for killing one. But since I cant condone it...I certainly wont help kill them...

I'll agree with you BOB D. The internet as useful as it is, it is not the place to learn the secrets of fishing. In todays world seems like lots of people want instant gratification in all they do, fishing included. I think good fisherpersons learn mostly by observation of the enviroments that they fish. It takes a long time to get good at the difficult sport of Steelhead fishing even when a person has the natural talent of picking up what's happening around them. More newcomers just need to pick a small portion of a local river and just fish it and fish it until they start to figure out that Steelhead fishing is really not about how to rig a pink worm but how to fish that worm. And the only rewarding way to fish that worm is to figure it yourself.

As for the bitching on this site, it's all politics and Steelhead should be politics with the situation they are in.

pureiron head, if you had put as much energy into writing your local congress person as you did this web post,your energy would have been spent more wisely.the people that put their posts here will sometimes vent their ideas here ! with hopefully some kind of resolve from cooler heads! some of those bitches may get someone motivated enough to get involved to actually solve problums. whether it be personal to political!tight lines !!!!!

i only suggested that you go to another web site.it wasn't a rude comment,but just a suggestion!.are you so quick to get heated on the water as well ?. i to come here to look at the latest fish reports and look at some of stories that people post and find some of them funny. if i dont like what i read in the first few words ,i switch to a different topic that has been posted!.do you really belive i have a lack of knowlage in the fishing industry?just for the record i have fished in alaska since the early eighties for a living ,and have seen my share of fish kills than you will see in your entire life span and then some!!!!.ps- i drift most of the rivers and have respect to my fellow drifters ie..stay wide of the holes that the are in and would want to be treated the same way . sorry if i hurt your feelings. really !!!
