As KK once noted, "Sage listens well..........eventually." smile

Tye seems just fine to me. Just keep using the old one and pretend it works.

Do you ever actually shock him?

Twice this year. The beep still works and that's usually enough.

I'll look at CEDAR'S. Like you say, a tone is usually enough, but the one we have is good out to about a half mile. Hit the momentary on him twice last year.

i have the trionics sport something or other (g3?). I've had 1 for 4 years, the other for 2. mack has a tendency to do the humpty-hump from time to time and the tone usually works, but sometimes he needs a reminder. check out http://www.gundogsupply.com/ for reviews. they're a good source for stuff, and they donated a gift card to lindsey's fundraiser a few years ago so I'll give them a plug..

Lacey Cabelas often has shock collars in the Bargain Cave. They're deeply discounted, but carry no warranty. If your wife was with you, you could probably take one for a "test drive". Who knows, you might end up purchasing two collars... wink

I have the tritronics g3 2 dog with beeper. Works fine. Charges in 2 hrs. Its 4 yrs old. No probs so far. I also have a older dogtra. Its 10 yrs old at least. Also works great. Both units were 300.00. If I was going to buy another I wouldnt hesitate to get another g3. My son just got one this year for his wirehair. Its worked flawlessly also.

Just extend that leash that's always dragging around his neck!

I have a Tritronics G3 and it works great, unfortunately Belle likes to "forget" to be a good girl and needs reminding far to often, once or twice and she is good to go, without it things could get out of control.
I am intrigued by the Garmon mentioned and really like their products and will look into anything they produce before replacing the one I have.

Not sure what collar you have now, but it may be worth a call to Collar Clinic to see if it can be repaired. I have never used them, but all I hear is rave reviews about their service and cost savings over buying new. Of course, this all depends on what you are running now.
