The 2nd Annual Salmon for Soldiers Fishing Event to be held on Saturday, September 13, 2014 is fast approaching.

With the huge success of last year’s event, we are experiencing significant interest and sign-ups by soldiers and their caregivers to participate in this year’s event. We expect the number of soldiers and their caregivers participating will exceed last year’s levels and all soldiers that sign up for the fishing event deserve to go fishing!

To make that happen, Salmon for Soldiers needs your help in two areas:

1. Financial Support – On the Salmon for Soldiers website (http://www.salmonforsoldiers.com), we now have the ability to collect individual donations for the event. Please consider making a personal donation to the cause (click on the Donate tab on the bottom of the Home page or click on the DONATIONS tab). Any dollar amount you can afford will go a long way in supporting our wounded heroes. It is really all about the soldiers…Where the Mission is Fishin’! *

2. Volunteer Boat Captains & Their Crews – Boat captains and their deck hands wanting to participate in the event should send an email to Dave Davenport (Daveyd6998275@yahoo.com) for the Boat Owner Sign Up Sheet.

For those wanting more information on Salmon for Soldiers, please visit http://www.salmonforsoldiers.com. If you are looking for a little inspiration, please watch the video from last year’s event (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jn4QWKd635w).

Thank you in advance for supporting Salmon for Soldiers!
-Troy

The event is Sept. 13th at The Port of Everett. For the boats that come up on Friday afternoon / evening there will be free moorage on "J" dock.
My wife and I, are involved with Salmon For Soldiers. Last year we were one of the boats, that was the most rewarding day's on the water I have ever experienced. I know it changed us, as well as the young men that we had as our guest's. The mission of Salmon for Soldiers is to offer a sense of normalcy and relaxation to our returning veterans by providing them with opportunities to engage with other sports fishermen. Salmon for Soldiers’ fishing events and opportunities are designed to help reduce stress and to open participants up to new relationships; while they learn a skill that can bring them many hours of fun and relaxation. Our events are designed to accommodate veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Traumatic Brain Injury and other physical challenges.

At Salmon for Soldiers the Mission is Fishin'!

Please take a look at the website, even if you don't have a boat, and cannot fish with us, a donation no matter how small would be nice. Doesn't matter if it is 5.00 or 1,000 dollars it will be going to a great event. Salmon For Soldiers is a 501 C3 Non Profit Org. and I can assure you 100% of ALL money raised goes to the events, there is no payroll, it is all volunteer's

Thanks.

As announced, Silver Horde Tackle will be producing a limited number of Salmon for Soldiers spoons for the 2014 fishing event in September. Silver Horde has committed to producing a special limited edition lure for Salmon for Soldiers every year for the next decade. These spoons will be available only for boat captains who volunteer their boats and expertise every year to take our veterans fishing and a very limited number will be for sale to the general public.

We will soon announce how to purchase the Salmon for Soldiers limited edition spoons. Please visit salmonforsoldiers.com and "Like" us on the Salmon for Soldiers Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/SalmonForSoldiers) to see the Patriot Lure and be the first to get notifications on the sale release date to the general public. See prior posting if you would like to volunteer as a captain or make a donation.

THANK YOU again to Silver Horde for supporting Salmon for Soldiers and our veterans!!!!!!!

Check this out...just posted on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/SalmonForSoldiers?fref=nf

To all of our Veteran Supporters:

Silver Horde / Gold Star has created the awesome “ Patriot Lure”; a one of a kind ultra-violet/double glow collector Kingfisher lure in honor of the 2014 Salmon for Soldiers event. Your donation of $50 or more will net you one of these special lures. Your donation will also help us take over 225 of our nation’s Veterans and guests’ salmon fishing on September 13, 2014.

The only way you can be assured that you receive one of the 100 Patriot Lures set aside for fund raising is to email cabincreekadventures@yahoo.com. This ensures that your request has been time-stamped. Please include your mailing address and phone number in your email.

Once we have received your email request, a return phone call and/or email will be made to you. You will be notified if you are on the reserve list. Please do not pay until you are notified that you are on the list. Once you are on the reserve list you will be asked to make your donation through our PayPal account within 24 hours at Salmonforsoldiers.com. When we are notified by PayPal that you have made your donation, The Patriot lure will be mailed to you along with a letter noting the donation for tax purposes. Please allow 2 to 3 weeks for delivery.

Lure donation email requests will be accepted beginning at 0900 hours on May 10th, 2014 until all lures are spoken for. Early requests will be rejected.

There are only 100 lures available!

Requests will be first come – first served. There will be no limit on the number of lures you may receive; however, each lure requires a minimum donation of $50.00.

Don’t miss this one time only opportunity as this lure will not be reproduced or sold at retail. And in the interest of full disclosure, every Boat Captain participating in the September 13th event will receive a Patriot Lure at no cost as a token of our thanks! A limited number will be given to our participating Veterans at no cost to them.
