Listen up Brewer, Mr. Vedder wrote the book.
I was improperly taught bobber as well, but the correct term is float.

Reminds me of a head-beater argument I got into with my little brother once.
He said a wall was "out of level" when in fact it was "out of plumb".
He simply could not accept the phrase "out of plumb". Maybe he thought that was something a plumber should worry about.
