Could help for Salmon be this simple?

If the mods think it is too political, feel free to move it to the dark side.

I would like to hear more. I will listen with an open mind yet I will not forget that hatcheries were once heralded as the savior of salmon.

The National Review does have an agenda, although William Buckley was one of the most principled conservatives out there. Sadly, we lost his voice a few years ago and National Review appears to have succumbed to some of the noise from the right wing wackos.

I think that story is a crock.

What about the massive returns to Norcal and Southern OR? Those fish never encountered those man-made nutrients since they don't migrate very far.

Ocean conditions are much bigger than that area of the ocean.

I'll wait for the paper to come out in Nature. Til then, I'm calling that horse shizzle.

[Bleeeeep!] I just applied some iron sulfate to my lawn to kill moss. I've used it as a diet supplement and also on soil for rhodies. I guess the salmon are going to go up the little creek across the road and spawn in my lawn this fall. Cool! beer

Well, I can always hope that once in a while someone gets something right.

IMO - its been WAY too short of a time frame to draw anything conclusive. La Nina and El Nino years have cyclical affects on current, nutrients and salmon populations, so you have to at least go through several cycles of each for a proper study.

NOAA - El Nino's effects on Salmon Populations and Movement

They say we are shifting to an El Nino right now.
