When the Mayflowers bloom the summer steelhead arrive. Typical slow Memorial Day weekend but didn't have to deal with the crowds. Drove the hook past the barb halfway to the eye of the hook. The curve of the hook followed the the tip of the snout. Should have taken a closeup. One of my best hooksets ever.

Interesting post......just did a quick look thru regulations....May 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015.....everything I saw had a "1st weekend in June".

Been a $hitstorm of heavy events going on for me over the last month and a half and am feeling some serious burnout.

I haven't fished a river east of the Satsop in 30+ years. Haven't felt the need to "tread on others home waters". I don't even fish the Chehalis above the Satsop.......lol
