I have a browning semi-automatic 12 gauge that my dad bought in the mid 70's. It is a beautiful gun and cost well over $1000.00 when he bought it (not sure what it would be worth now, but I am pretty sure it is worth more than a little bit). It sat in his gun case for many years, after my dad died it sat in my gun case for many more, my job doesn't allow for much hunting time, so now my son has the gun in Idaho where he lives.
The auto eject does not work properly. I don't think the gun has had 25 rounds through it since it was new.
My son has some connections in law enforcement and there is a guy that does some work for the local Sheriffs office went through the gun, cleaned it up, oiled everything, etc... but no luck getting the auto eject to work properly.
Long story short, my son will be here for a few days next week and I was hoping someone out there could recommend a good gunsmith in the greater Seattle/Everett/Eastside area so we can get it looked over.

I would review this

http://www.shotgunworld.com/images/BROWNINGA5DISASSEMBLY.pdf

otherwise I would have your son ask at that URL under B
Browning.

An A5 with less than a box through it should function properly. I'd concur with the floatinghat and do some homework to start. Take a peek at barrel stamp (pushing 3" rounds through a 2.75" rig is a no-no and the proud hulls will likely not eject), then extractor, ejector, gas ring orientation to start. Although unlikely, she could be short-stroking if you're using light trap loads in a 3" gun too.

Starting this Thursday 7/17 thru 7/20th there will be a gunsmith from Minnesota at the Evergreen Gun club in Little Rock, Washington attending the Grand Pacific Trap shooting event. Phillip is his name he travels to this trap shoot every year with his guns smithing trailer full of his tools and parts. Phil is by far one of the best gun smiths in the U.S., he can fix, and rebuild any gun you might throw at him and has most any parts in his trailer to fix any U.S. or foreign manufactured shot gun or rifle gun.

Yep...great guy, highly recommend him! He and his old partner Pat (was P&P Gunsmithing) have been a staple on the trap circuit since the late 80's.

Correction on the dates for the Grand Pacific Trap shoot July 20th thru the 26th when the Gun Smith (Phillip) will be at Evergreen Sportsman Club.
