Yup, that is what I used to track the Colockum fire last year. Turn on the satelite function in the map. You can see structures that way.

My heart goes out to those folks affected and involved.

Mine too...I really feel for the people who lost their homes, and it is really hard to see areas that I know intimately burn to a crisp. Elk area two years ago, now my birding zone is up in flames. Crap, it looks like even the Tripod Burn is on fire again! evil

I was surprised this fire did so much damage as there really isn't that much fuel there.

So I read up on it a little and the wet spring really promoted grass growth which then got crispy dry over the last month. Damn that most have been a hot one to do so much damage so quickly.

That had to be really damn scary for those folks who had to evacuate in the middle of the night. Some of the pics are amazing.

And yes I feel terrible for those folks who lost their homes.

First Darrington and now Pateros. Two of my favorite towns are not having very good years frown
