South King County PSA Salmon Derby is Aug. 2

The South King County Puget Sound Anglers Salmon Derby is Aug. 2 from daylight until 1 p.m., and is part of the Northwest Salmon Derby Series.

Fishing is allowed in Marine Catch Areas 10, 11 and 13 only. The weigh in stations will be at the Des Moines Marina, Point Defiance Park Marina in Tacoma and the Narrows Marina.

More than 600 anglers are expected to try their luck at catching the biggest salmon with more than $25,000 cash and prizes. The largest fish is worth $3,500; second largest is $1,500; and third largest is $1,000. Prizes will be given away to the Top-50 fish weighed in. The awards ceremony at 3 p.m. will be held at the Point Defiance Park Boathouse in Tacoma.
