The sporties really got reemed- closing the area north of marker 13 which is where the channel is. You are welcome to fish south of the marker at high tide of course when there is 2' of water. The lane to fish in now is about 50' wide before you're on the mud or getting a ticket.

Try again...

Marker 13 rests at the north edge of the Willapa channel at its confluence with the North River channel

The main troll path in the Willapa Channel has been preserved.

Just keep your ass outta the North River channel

I'll gladly trust and verify. I'd hate to see the mob shift.

It's been awhile since I have pounded the Bay. Now that I am retired (again) I plan to catch as much Willapa Bay Grass as I can. Anyone do any good this early ?

I don't fish Willapa, at all. I have been going to the NOF meetings....what I can tell you is the "gill netters" are not happy.

Area 2 T.....while not perfect for sports, is better than what it could have been.

Now just need to have Phil Anderson let the system work, without him using the power he has.....to change the current plan, to benefit the non sports interests.

Local- I'd hit washaway and go in from there.

My cannery connection tells me the gillnetters are getting two days starting August 12 and that's it for this month. But they will be hitting it hard in September. Glad I was wrong about the marker 13 location, it is on the north side of the channel.

Mikey, my read of the regs indicates 3.5 days in 2T, 2N, and 2U from 6:00am Aug 12 to 6:00pm Aug 15. Then another day in2N and 2U Aug 25/26. Ouch-Ouch-Ouch.

It's poppin inside the bay- get 'em before the gillnetters do on 8/12. Fresh herring in Raymond/S. Bend at the any of the mini marts.

All in all the sporties got a pretty good deal on the netting season- the netters are out of 2T after this first go around which is great for us. I believe a big thanks will be in order for those who got that done, Aye.

Good luck out there.
