Mine did that too. I read a press release recently(either WDFW website or seattle paper)that said WDFW was aware of the problem and you could get a replacement free or they would honor the one on the vehicle because it can be recognized by shape.
I'm leaving mine because I would be amazed if I got ticketed by a game cop who couldn't recognize his own department's sticker.

Eric's right. The state will not ticket any rig due to a faded out sticker. I have seen people tape them inside the window so they can move them from rig to rig.

Mine's stark white and posted right above last year's green and white one, which incidentally is still green and white. Just round the edge off a white label and you got and "access" sticker for your other rig.

The instructions say, afix to ouside of window. Supposedly, you have to buy a permit for each vehicle, but I know a ton of guys that display the tag on the inside of their vehicles using scotch tape so it can be moved. I haven't heard what, if anything, enforcement is doing. Anyone out there get a ticket for this...

When I figure out how to drive two cars to the access, I'll buy a second sticker. Call me old-fashioned, but I'd like to see the Fall City warden spend more time chasing poachers, snaggers, and litterbugs. Hassling a lawfully licensed fisherman with a clearly displayed access decal is a real waste of time.

Maybe WDFW should have the Access Decal made into recycleable cardboard that is hung on the vehicles rearview mirror which can be better viewed by the game cop just driving by. My access decal is all white right now.

You know, it is no damn suprise that the state can not manage our steelhead and salmon runs when they cant even make window stickers that do not fade within the first month. To me this just shows how screwed up our DF&W is and how incompetant they can be!! --Ryan

What's the point? Anyone with a valid fishing license gets a permit free. I think they should sell the permits for $20.00 and give you a free fishing license.

Doug Kelly...I've taped mine to the back window of my canopy, has been no problem. 2 nd part of your question...I just called WDF, Montesano office, the gal told me "in Pacfic County, enforcement will look for the sticker", so maybe the back window of the pickup would be the correct place. I have the same problem. Edmund.....Like your idea, hang on the "rear view mirror", seems to be ok where my wife works for parking...very easy to check. State, WDF, probably wouldn't like it cause someone might "move it to another vehicle".

I think what happened was that WDFW director, Dr. Koenings, told the print shop to make the decals using a design that would accurately portray the state of wild salmon and steelhead in Washington.
So the print shop designed the decals to be rapidly disappearing.

Well put by the tvhosts.
I believe that this is part of a conspiracy by the state so that they can ticket us even though we have stickers or maybe I've just been watching too much X Files on tv.
If you are one of those super paranoid types, then write your fishing license number in permanent BLACK ink on the faded sticker. I would like to see a warden question that one.
