Hi all,

Not exactly fishing specific, but I was curious if anyone could suggest some favorite national forest campsites. Or anything else that's not your typical crowded national/state park sites. Looking to go in mid-September with our toddler and baby, and thinking North Cascades, but open to any suggestions (ideally in the mountains).

I'm not hoping to do much fishing, but the toddler has been having fun catching perch this summer, so nearby stream or small river access and a few trout would be a bonus.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

John

Take a look along Hood Canal. Most roads going West have NF campgrounds.

Use of all campgrounds drops off dramatically in September after the kids are back in school and most folks have done their vacationing for the season.

My favorites are on Highway 410 just over Chinook Pass. There must be a dozen or more along that stretch.
