I live in Olympia and have a little trouble finding decent tackle around here any suggestions on locations or online is cool too.

p.s. I have an easier time spearing the fish with my loomis than catching them with the crap from K-mart and FredMeyer If they even had the sizes when you need them.
(just kidding about the spearing but you get my point)

Please help
Thanks

Yeah, I'd say sportco is a good place. It's getting a bit big for it's britches lately, but you can't beat the prices and the selection. For online you can go to Cabela's, I'm sure a few guys on here will plug their sites too.

Have a look at Fisherman's Shack if you build your own spinners. They have a large selection and the quality is #1. They also carry loomis rods. You can order from them online at http://www.fishermanshack.com.

What type of tackle are you looking for? Sportco is the place if you wanna walk in a buy. I live in Oly to but work in Tacoma so I just do my shoping after work so I don't make a special trip. I don't know if you like fishing with jigs and that? If so give Andy Mathews a look. he has a great selection of rags and jigs and was talking about adding more. I will tell one thing if you buy his products you will be getting #1 quality stuff. his hooks are the best they aren't the cheap ones that are for small warm water fish. I really like his stuff.

W2FM,
I to live in Oly and agree that finding tackle at times can be challangeing. Depending on what you are looking for Tom's Outboard off of East Bay Dr., Puget Sound Sports off of Pacific and Tumwater Sports all have gear to a limited degree. I like to deal with Tom as he does all of my motor work and is generally a nice guy and loves to fish. He will also special order stuff for you if he can, he has done that for me before.
Tight lines, Jeff

True story... if you buy 50 cents worth of stuff from a Cabela's catologe just once.. they will send you junk in the mail once a week for approx the next 30 years.. Gives you something to read on the crapper and every now and again they have a good deal on something you don't need but looks cool

Being an Oly resident also, tackle is hard to come by ,all you can do is get selective items at K-marche or Freddy's or go see Jerry at Tumwater sports but it's so limited here ..go to Sportco it's all there good luck

As others have stated Sportco is a good store to shop. For fly tackle check the Morning Hatch Fly Shoppe just off 38th street and Alder West of the Tac. Mall. Also in Tacoma at the bottom of 19th Street next to Puget Sound is The Narrows Marina. They have a very vast tackle shop as well as other things such as electronics. Hope this helps. Don't you guys have real sporting good stores up there. If not you need to make a trip to portland or vancouver and go to GI JOES,or in portland just across the bridge FISHERMAN SUPPLYS on hayden island also a GI JOES there almost side by side.I find it hard to believe that there isn't a sporting good store up in your area with all the salmon and steelhead fishing in that area. ??? ,theres got to be some up there. Why pay shipping when you can just go to the store.

With all this talk about tackel I ahd to run to Sportco yesterday and pick up some stuff...we do have a G.I. Joe up here it's in Federal way but I've compared prices and sportco in cheaper and a larger selection.Buy the way for those who float fish I found that Sportco carries Thill floats I've never used these ,but I will give them a try next week...tight lines
P.S. ....R.T. glad to read that you have brushing up on your'e netting skills
