A very generous friend has given me use of his old 16' Clack this summer. My problem is I live in an apartment in Seattle (in Fremont) and don't have off-street parking available. That's one of the reasons I ended up selling my previous boat. Someone complained about it being on the street and playing cat and mouse with the parking police got to be a hassle.
I've called around various storage lots in the city and haven't found anywhere with open spaces that will take it for less than $80 - $100 a month, which I think is nuts for a frigging parking spot. I could take it to a storage area farther outside of town but then I run into the problem of narrowing where I can fish. Being kinda central in Seattle I can wait till the last second to decide wether to head South, East, North or West to fish.
So do any of you city or near-city dwellers have suggestions for parking this boat and trailer? Or better yet, a little space on the side of your garage or place of business that won't get you in trouble with the wife or neighbors? I'd be more than happy to pay something or take new people on floats.
Thanks for any help. I just thought I'd pose the question here before I either take the boat back to my friend's place in Port Orchard or start looking at storage lots in the country. My email is
