My sister and I would get up at 6:30 every Saturday just to watch cartoons. We had a portable black and white TV with a six inch screen and we'd get a bunch of pillows and blankets and lie on the floor about a foot from the screen. Big Bunny, The Pink Panther, The Ant and Aardvark, The Road Runner... there were lots of others but you can probably tell that Warner Bros were my favorite. I had a great uncle that was an animator, he directed some episodes and his wife painted the cells. I got to meet Fritz Freeling and had some memorabilia. Hearing that it has been cancelled just make me sad for kids today. Innocence and having fun just doesn't seem to fit into the agenda anymore. http://gizmodo.com/this-is-the-first-weekend-in-america-with-no-saturday-m-1642441646/+FaheyFoghorn Leghorn http://youtu.be/L8TQZBHszI4

Two of my favorites from Foghorn Leghorn.
"Boy, I say boy, you're about as sharp as a sack of wet mice." "Boy, I say boy, you're about as sharp as a bowling ball."

I agree that there's funny stuff out there today, but it's downright crude and inappropriate for kids, for the most part. The fact it's shown during prime time (and sometimes late) says that it's targeted mostly at adults. I loved the Simpsons, especially in the 3rd and 4th seasons. It was suitable for all ages, and the writing was creative and hilarious. These days, it's become too much like Family Guy, American Dad, etc. Funny, but crude and less imaginative.
Stuff my kids watch these days that I like would include Adventure Time and Bob's Burgers (although that one can be pretty crude at times). Always liked Spongebob Squarepants, too, but my kids seem to have outgrown that.
ReefSkunk's right. I am old, beyond my years even.

I usually need some TV to help me zone out at night to fall asleep, and my go to is watching Adult Swim on the Cartoon Network...
Family Guy...good. American Dad...good. Bob's Burgers...pretty good. King of the Hill...pretty good. Cleveland Show...not too bad.
As long as one of those five is on and it's an episode I haven't seen before (or seen enough, as often is the case), then that's what I'm watching.
When I was really young it was defnitely Looney Tunes...Foghorn Leghorn, Woody Woodpecker, Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote, the whole shebang. There was also Hercules and Speed Racer!
A little older and it was on to all the Super Friends and Legion of Doom stuff...and I used to get up at 6am on weekdays and watch Star Blazers, then sneak back into bed before I got busted.
Fish on...
Todd

I was never really a Saturday morning cartoon guy but we did watch a lot of cartoons after school, especially once we discovered the wonders of herb. Glum from Gulliver’s Travels is one of my all time favorite characters whom I often quote to this day. “It’s hopeless. It’ll never work. We’re doomed.” And many a brawl started with “I am He Man! You are She Woman!” Especially when directed towards older brothers
